Matured nicely
My Dad was a founder member, and I played with him and my Mom a few times at Aston Wood. Not played since but as my own son is playing more and we now use the Golf Now to book rounds I thought it would be nice to see how the course has developed. I was so pleased to see the course design is essentially the same, it has matured beautifully. The condition was lovely overall, and the maturity has really helped to define the holes. Its not especially tight so not too hard to choose driver, but there are holes that make you think about your course management, taking an iron for position can reap benefits. I was so pleased the course as been invested in, and the round played was poignant as my Dads old course. overall thoroughly recommended.
Wonderful Experience
Having played at several courses in the Midlands over several years we were very impressed with the lay out and the condition of this lovely course that we had not played at before. Although the greens had been hollow tined a few days earlier it did not detract from the quick greens. The fairways are generally fairly wide with some very interesting dog legs and plenty of water to make the holes challenging. The staff and members made us very welcome and as we were only a 2 ball we were very surprised to be let through by a friendly 3 ball and a 4 ball. This is fantastic course and can't wait to return again !
Maybe a nice course is the summer...maybe
Not in great condition, fairways had grass on where they’d been cut and the greens had been spiked which I appreciate but also sanded that morning making it totally pointless trying to putt. They were even driving round putting more layers on as we played. Lovely designed course which is quite open/ forgiving. Have to do a lot to lose a ball there. Nice to play but won’t go again £29 on golf now is okay price but not being able to putt properly meant it was a wasted day really. Play off 16 H/CAP
Wonderful value for money
A lovely course, with immaculate fairways and greens. Plenty of doglegs and holes over/with water so it never feels boring. The holes are beautifully framed and the plant life enhances the aesthetics greatly.
Luckily played in slight winds, as would expect it to be quite a difficult challenge in heavy winds!
The only disappointing aspect was the mediocre Tuna baguette at the halfway house!!
Definitely Recommend
Well designed course with beautiful landscape. Challenging course and will look to visit again. Good Terrain for walking too.
Aston wood
Aston wood is a joy to play perfect greens plenty of room for the odd wayward drive
Play it it’s what a golf course should be
Never Fails
Played this course last year and was so impressed went again this year and course did not let us down, tees, fairways, bunkers, and greens in immaculate condition definitely one of my best courses in the midlands i have played.
Great course
4th time playing this course. Expect some testing holes but really enjoyable even for an average golfer. There was an extremely slow 4 ball in front that had no intention of letting anyone through. Suspect they were members in a comp but even so you should let faster players through. All in all excellent day out if you haven't been you must.
Very nice
Course was in good condition mostly greens were very good it’s a bit short in terms of par 4s on the front 9 but I would definitely play here again.
Lovely condition
The course is in very good condition tee to greens!!!
Really nice.
First time playing here. Beautiful course.
Fairways and greens were perfect. Staff helpful and friendly.
There was only one thing that bugged me... the amount of pitch marks on these really nice greens was really disgusting. Obviously, this is an issue with players not repairing their divots rather than anything to do with the club or staff.
5 stars all round.
Great course
I’ve always liked the layout of the course, the greens were outstanding when we played on Sunday. Such great value for money and can’t wait to go back
