The Club at Los Rios
About
The Club at Los Rios opened in the early 1970s with a Don January and Billy Martindale design that takes advantage of eight small ponds and a creek that winds through the layout.
Water is in play on over half of the holes, including the opening 485-yard par 5 that features two ponds in play off the tee, and another fronting the green.
Two very difficult holes stand out on this narrow, shot-maker’s course. No. 7 goes 431 yards but allows for a huge tee shot with a generous fairway, which will definitely help on the dicey approach over the creek into a shallow green. On the par 5 No. 14, water crosses the fairway three times from the back tees.
Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Pkwy. east until it dead ends at Los Rios Blvd. Turn left onto Los Rios Blvd. And continue on for 1 mile to Country Club Dr. Turn right and drive a short distance to the course–look for the entrance on the right side of the street.

Great for newer golfers.
Course is getting better all the time. Greens are slow for competitive golfers but In fairly good condition. Could use a little more grass in the fairways but they are not bad. It appears they are working on making it better and the course is fun.
Great course for the $$
Nice course.. You will use every club... Lol......
Value
Great value when the course is in good shape early in the summer.
Great course, great fun!
Duke & Tim January make everyone feel at home and the course lay- out is better than ever.
Greens need work!
Greens are very poor considering the amount of rain we have gotten recently and the fact that these are "new" greens!
Could use some work, but all in all not bad
Course was really wet, most holes are really nice from a design standpoint. The course is relatively short even from back tees. The greens were in good shape just very slow.
This course is a waste of time...money&effort. Stay away.
Thus course is not a good option in the Dallas area....especially with Pecan Hollow basically
right across the street. I played this course when it was $21 a round and it was palatable then even though the greens were terrible. They have since upgraded the greens, they are barely decent, & now it is about $45 a round. Not worth it....stay away.
Good experience
Great course. If you want a little more challenge play from the backs. Makes your second shot more challenging. Greens were awesome. Water comes in to play on almost every hole.
Ok course, bad greens!
The course was in decent shape for the $45 price. The greens were in bad shape and most of them are 30% sand. Felt like I was putting at home on carpet. If they got the greens in order, it would be a nice little course. Still had a good time.
terrible price for course
Greens rolled pretty good. PEOPLE, do not, I repeat, do not spend your 40 dollars, or even anything more than 30 dollars to play this course. They should be ashamed of themselves for charging people this much. I have nothing personal against this course or the people. But for 40 dollars there are a lot of other courses in DFW that would be worth it. One golfer to the next!
Simple Track
Greens were very good condition compared to most in the area.
Dog Track
Course was a pure dumpster fire. Would only recommend if you're getting a rate under $15, and even then I'd rather pony up and go $20 plus for a remotely decent course. Greens poorly maintained, the entire course smells (not to mention the clubhouse) and is really nothing to look at.
Los Rios, take your mulligan and move on.
I had a mid morning tee time on Saturday April 19. The tee times were delayed 30-45 minutes because of an 8am shotgun tournament that had run long. I sat with probably 20-30 golfers waiting. Everyone was really disappointed. We decided to stick it out and wait because I had no choice. Overall the course was really dry. Hard pan on most fairways made it a tough for me. I like to make a small divot on most of my shots so the hard pan really affected my game. The greens I mean the "browns" for the most part rolled true and fast. The fairway on #14 was like playing on a dirt road. It will be very hard for me to be convinced to play Los Rios again until the course goes through some serious repair. Might need to wait after we get some serious rain because this course needs it bad. Oh I almost forgot No cart girl!!!!
Not as bad as people make it!
First time playing this course and I really enjoyed it. There are some challenging holes where you have to be on your A game. I really enjoyed the island green (hole #6). I made par by the way! Hole #18 was really the only hole that was missing a lot of grass to the left of the fairway. But for the most part if you are in the fairway (where its suppose to be fair) you will have a decent lie.
The golf course was in good shape for this time of the year.
Pace of play was great. Played with 3 other golfers, and we all had an enjoyable time.
los rios
It is a fun course to play and the staff is outstanding and friendly. The greens are very good shape. I only wish they would spend some time on their fairways. Fairways not they great in a lot of places and thats the only negative comment I have.
Course satisfactory
Needs big improvement on fairway and greens. On fairway, you are practically hitting bare ground, hardly any grass. On most greens, ground is so hard that tee breaks, lacks water maintenance.
Course has benn greatly improved
I had played this course years ago and was extremely disappointed. I tried it again recently and found it to be greatly improved. The greens are new and very good. They are obviously putting some time and money into the course. Very reasonable green fees make this an excellent value.

The bar area really does smell. They need to tear out the carpets.
