Good in summer, not winter

The course is well designed and in summer usually enjoyable however it’s statement “the best drained course in the area” is false and the roughy was better to hit off that’s the fairway!

Muddy and slow

The play was so slow that 4balls did not allow 1ball to go through. Fairways so muddy.

Super 18 with views of north downs

Many interesting holes with blind tees and dog legs so worth checking the course card. Had rained and a couple of bunkers were flooded and compact sand so we lifted there. Rest of course well drained though. Got a good deal for £18 with GN

Great first look, but when you start playing, you then see how poor this golf course is

Nothing to say, but POOR Greens, none were looked after, they were all full of mud, didn't see any grounds staff, as all the greens should have been swept first thing in the morning.

we spent at least 5 mins on every green cleaning the mud off the greens so that we could putt., but any approach shot, would just stick to the mud or bubble around, just shocking. I get that there can be debris throughout the day, but this clearly wasn't the case, as the mud on the greens had to been there, at least the start of the day. If their grounds person, had swept the mud/debris off first thing in the morning, then what ever mud/debris was on the green, would be min.

Let down by slow play

Course was interesting and in good nick, especially the greens. Experience was tarnished by being stuck behind a large, slow society, which delayed our start and led us to play the front nine twice saving us more than 45 minutes. Clubhouse was good and staff were all friendly - just a shame about the pace of play.

Great value but course could be really special

For the value, you can’t complain but the course feels so picturesque with a beautiful clubhouse and very nice halfway house. If the conditions of the course were better it would be a really exceptional course as every hole feels so different and unique. That being said, it’s always great to have affordable courses around so I would assume more investment in the course would come at a higher cost to visitors.

very good value for money

The course was in good condition and represents a good challenge. My four ball ranged from 7 to 28 handicap and all enjoyed the round. The course would benefit further from 150 yd marker posts on the edge of the fairways and some improved signage at the tees.

Nice challenge!

Great course with some good challenging holes. Not played over water for a few years so need to carefully think about positioning. Staff were very helpful and got a great price. Was a bit slow due to being busy

Can’t fault it

The course itself is in great condition from the tee boxes, fairways and greens. I am not a great player, if I was to work out my handicap it would probably be around the 20-22 mark so I found the course a bit of a challenge, the greens are nearly all have awkward slopes and very fast making them difficult. Saying this it is a very interesting layout with a good mix of slopes, water and sand hazards. I scored 5 star for everything except the amenities which I scored 4 star only as I did not use them. There is a cabin at the 1st/10th tee where you can buy refreshments and there is a club house and shop.

Great Course

We originally booked for 18 holes but after a downpour after 9 we decided to call it a day and have some food and drinks in the club house. We really enjoyed the first 9 and were disappointed we were unable to complete the whole 18 and so we will definitely be back to do this at some point. It was unfortunate to not complete the whole course, but we really liked the first 9 and the variation in the holes. So I only gave 3* in value for money for the reason that we were unable to complete the course after paying for the whole 18, if we were able to complete the course then it would've received 5* for sure. The food was also good in the bar.

Bletchingley

Have played Bletchingley before. Decent course and never had a problem. But the welcome we received (well, didn’t) from the young guy in the pro shop was shocking. I don’t usually feel compelled to complain, but he never uttered a word when my son and I approached. I said we had a booking but could we add a buggy. He shook his head. I asked if anything available later and he shook his head. Didn’t say a single word to us from start to finish. Not one word. I picked up a couple of cards and waited for him to acknowledge us, but nothing. Quite unbelievable. Cannot understand why a club would have someone like that as the face of their brand.

Majorly Downhill

This course used to be amazing, but I played yesterday and it has majorly gone down hill. The tee boxes were abysmal, the bunkers has next to no sand in them and the greens were patchy, slow and inconsistent.

The course has a great lay out but it has really deteriorated since I played it last time.

Tough course in good nick

2.15 tee on Wedñesday. Not busy, fairways good and greens true. Not sure slope rating of 129 does the difficulty justice.

Great golf course

Bletchingley is a fantastic golf course with a rest variety of holes. The course was in fantastic condition and is very picturesque. There is some walking between holes but that isn’t a problem, play was a little slow but mostly due to the course being busy and the group in front of us were slow. The clubhouse offers good variety in beers and other beverages and sitting outside by the 18th is a great way to end the day!

Overall I really recommend Bletchingley and will definitely be back to play the course again soon!
