Take snacks, your round will take a while!
The course is good and in excellent condition, especially considering the weather.
The course is challenging, if you aren't straight off the tee, you'll be in for a tough day.
Finally and most importantly, the pace of play is awful. My dad, brother and I have played three times in the last four weeks and been held up by slow play on every occasion.
Very wet conditions other local courses were shut. Course played fine just wet in some areas.
Great course and great value
Excellent well kept course with plenty of challenging long par 4's. Course doesn't help my driver slice as plenty of bunkers and trees on the right to get you into a sticky situation. Challenging course with plenty of variety and excellent value for money.
Top Course
This course is terrific. I have played it many times and will definitely keep coming back for more. Its challenging, tight, tree lined, dog legs, water hazards. Its also stunning, very well laid out and maintained fairways and greens, it plays really well all year round.......I cant remember ever seeing a boggy patch. 10/10
Golf in the rain and fog
Due to the very wet conditions, all 18 holes on temps.
But still enjoyed the round 1st 9 in wet and 2nd 9 in fog. Happy with my score 92 off 18 h'cap did not use driver kept ball in play most of time. Always enjoy Bondhay will return soon
Challenging but fun
This was our 2nd time playing Bondhay. The first time it poured down but we enjoyed it that much we had to come back for another go in more pleasant conditions. The course is challenging but plays incredibly well, weather a beginner or seasoned player, with plenty of bunkers and water hazards. The greens are in excellent condition and there are a few with multi tiers to add interest (and frustration). When you have completed your game, the clubhouse offers a great range of drinks and food at very reasonable prices and yes, the locals really are a friendly bunch. I highly recommend this course for a great day out and some fun golfing.
First time visitor but definitely will not be the last.
Beautiful course and a real test. Immaculate conditions although the greens would not hold a wedge in and ran through most times. Some bunkers very shallow with insufficient sand.
That's being picky though as overall it's a superb course. A real find.
Great course, need to play it again!!
First time here and very impressed with the course and the facilities, has whetted my appetite for another crack now I'm a bit familiar with the course!
Hardest course i've ever played
It maybe the hardest but I enjoyed it -spent a lot of time in the bunkers - I went into 16 bunkers that day
!!! Very challenging course with some long par 4's - the course and greens were in excellent condition only negative for me was the concrete like sand in the many fairway and green bunkers - overall it's a must play course
Bondhay Golf Club
A really good and enjoyable experience despite a thunderstorm soon after starting. The course was very well kept and the staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. There were many memorable holes on the course ie 10,11 and 18 for example and the course was interesting and challenging.
If it is good enough for Danny Willett it is certainly good enough for us. His comment that his Masters Green Jacket was his second because he was Junior Captain at Bondhay Golf Club speaks volumes.
My partner and I are now looking forward to a second visit and hoping to go better but certainly not enjoy it any more than we did.
Finally it was excellent value for such a good quality course.
Trees and bunkers!
This was the first time our friends had played the course. We were all impressed with the condition and value for money.
A course you need to be long and straight off the tee otherwise you could be punished by the trees. Can find your ball but cost you a shot. Lots of bunkers to contend with but mostly with enough sand in for easier shot out.
The clubhouse staff were friendly and food good. All in all a good day even though it rained!
Awesome course
Course was immaculate as ever always a pleasure to play here
good course
good course, fairly long, was a bargain price, not in as good condition as last time i played here
Ying and Yang
- Layout is brilliant
- Greens are fast and challenging
- Great value for money
- Danny Willett boyhood club
- THE WORST BUNKERS IVE EVER SEEN!
- As a 2 ball we flew through the first 9 holes and then were rudely held up by a 3 ball which simply didn't let us play through which really spoilt it in the end.
Great value. Interesting layout
I've played other course that haven't been half as good as Bondhay and paid more than double the green fee.
Difficult treelined fairways mean you have to be accurate from the tee. Greens are undulating. Holes are interesting and make you think on the tee.
My only complaint is that the bunkers were bare and it caused the club to bounce and thin shots.
Our 4 ball enjoyed the course immensely and we will definitely play it again.
very green
great weather, great course, played sunday afternoon, fairways and greens in very good condition,, guy in pro shop very friendly . would return/will return..
