Excellent course
Course was in fantastic condition from tee to green. Highly recommended this course to anyone. Very impressive
Excellent
Bondhay is a club that I enjoy every time I go there. It’s a place i know very well and has attracted me to go often ever since. There’s a Par 3 junior course for the little ones which is 9 holes and a 18 hole course with an option to play the front or back 9 holes. Only at a reasonable price. Me and a friend opted for the front 9 and i learned that Bondhay is not only a fantastic course it is also very difficult and a lot of skill is needed to play this course. The facilities are great with a pro shop, driving range, putting green and restaurant equipped inside. The staff who i know well are extremely kind and know their wits about golf and make the place very welcoming. Bondhay is also located out of the way in the Derbyshire countryside so you don’t have to worry about any off putting noises. The qualities of the fairways, tee boxes and greens are superb however the green quality for the junior course is quite poor as it is very bumpy with mud and dead grass. Overall Bondhay is an Excellent course and i would 100% recommend to anyone reading this review.
Tough course but worth the effort
This course is a good test of golf. Tight tree lined fairways, plenty of bunkers, undulating greens. However it’s well worth the effort and a beautiful finish over water on 18th.
Lovely course
Fantastic greens, good welcoming staff and an overall good course, great value for money highly recommend
Slow slow slow
Course was ok for a flat tree lined motorway. But the pace of play was painful. 4 holes in over an hour, I didn’t have a head torch so had to abandon ship. Terrible experience for a first (and last) timer.
Incredible layout and beautifully kept
The course is in top condition and a real challenge with the mature tree lines catching the errant teeshot.
With the wind blowing it really does test even the best golfers. The ample bunkers and carefully positioned ponds reward you for staying honest and thinking about position. A real treat and would recommend.
Great
Chose course due to location near motorway as meeting distant friend half way. Really nice course, quite tough as lots of trees. Good condition for time of year. Will return
Great challenge
Nice course with strategically placed bunkers that protect it well, particularly on the shorter holes. Needs well positioned drives to score well. We played on a Saturday when many other courses were closed, so it was busy. However, the pace of play wasn't helped by groups who must have started on 10, then joining the queue on the first! Overall, a great challenge - we will be back.
Good test
Tough course in good condition considering the torrential rain recently, bunkers were out of play and winter greens in play but we still had a good knock while most other local couses were either closed or unplayable.
A good enjoyable day very fairly priced
Slow Play
The course was full not told this and finished after 11 holes it would have been dark if we carried on, two players and would have took 5 hours ridiculous in this cold weather
Too many temps
Bondhay is an excellent, challenging course that I've played about a dozen times. The problem on this occasion was 9 temporary greens. I wouldn't have minded had this been pointed out (and priced accordingly) ahead of going out, but it wasn't. This meant it was impossible to use my GPS app to gauge distances to greens. Fallen leaves are currently making balls hard to find too. Staff were out trying to clear them though. Still given 4* as usally it's very good.
Very good
Considering it was October the course was in brilliant condition and the greens still fast and true. I’d love to play it in the summer months. Some very interesting and challenging holes.
Bondhay Golf
Never fails to test every aspect of your golf game. Shame players ahead were too lazy to rake bunkers and repair their pitchmarks.
Bunker r us
To many bunkers!!! Also tight fairways with plenty of small trees bunched together leaving no second shot possible. Find yourself going sideways a lot. Lovely big greens in good condition.
Lovely course just hard going if only slightly wayward.
