Bowring Park Golf Course

Nice little course. It’s slightly shorter than majority I’ve played at. Is idle if you want to get a quick round in or not played in a while and coming back from a break or even first round as a new player. Nothing to dangerous, bunkers arnt to hard and only 1 or 2 water hazards what I remember. I didn’t loose many balls as the course is well maintained, roughs are at worst only moderate. Greens arnt great but fair. Well worth playing and paying for in my experience 👍

The course is improving well. The results of the recent work on the bunkers is plain to see but more work still needed. The value for money at this course is excellent.

Decent course well maintained. Good features, course playing well even after heavy rain.

Really enjoyed a twilight round here. The greens had been treated so were a bit slower than normal I imagine. Still very true though and consistent.

Some well placed bunkers and trees make the challenge more enjoyable. Would recommend

Really good course for the price and decent availability. Some difficult holes. Some easy so really good overall

Played twice this year and back next week

Lots of positives, course looks great and so much effort has gone into it.

Only downside is there is so much cut grass everywhere which has been left to die. I lost 6 balls which I can only assume are under cut grass, fairways too. If the grass has of been raked it would have been faultless.

Course remained open even though it was unplayable and have to leave course after a few holes. No refund was given.

This course has so much potential but they just dont put any effort into it.

- Most of the greens are in poor condition

- The bunkers are overgrown with weeds

- The fairways are a disgrace, the length of the grass was equal to that of the rough.

- tee boxes have no grass on them.

I wouldnt even pay £10 to play here again, its just not worth it

Dog muck on the first Tee then got slowed up by people sneaking on at the 9 Tee not enough tables outside for an after drink game shame as the rest of the course was ok

The greens weren’t consistent, some just kept running others the ball would stop short going downhill. I’m in no rush to go back.

Played this course about 6 years ago felt it was a great course then, yesterday when I played the course had a lot of rain over the weekend so was boggy in places, tees weren’t that good very patchy, fairways good but not much run due to the rain bunkers were being dealt with by green keepers although not much sand in some and very compact, green were ok but very slow due to rain and some had a lot water still on so were spongy in places. Directions to next hole could be better and would be helpful if on the tees they had the hole number at least preferably the yardage and shape of hole with hazards photo on.

Some holes are a bit of a walk to the hole. And some greens were bumpy b cause of players failing to repair pitch makes and so looked like people had been playing chip soys off.

Overall a good course with potential with more frequent looking after by both players and green keepers.

All holes in really good condition fairways and greens, only downside directions to next holes is not very good if not played before would struggle to find way around course

5 balls on the course , like playing on a farmers field , greens shocking

I've played a few times over the years but since the council reclaimed it over a couple

Of years ago it not improved at all. Slow wooly greens not cut short enough just like the fairways like a second cut at best Tee boxes just like rough . 2 lots of 5 balls on the course. Bunkers full of weeds with no rakes. The website boasts its the oldest municipal in England , if invest some money in looking after the course and not just promoting a clubhouse .

There was a long queue on the 1st tee which resulted in 40 minutes delay to our original tee time .

The pace of play was also really slow too didn't complete a full round due to the amount time it was taking which was disappointing

Course was OK bit boggy in places due recent heavy rain greens were OK too.

By far the worst course I have ever played.

The whole place is covered in dog walkers with loose dogs, running across greens and down fairways dog walkers, appearing randomly from trees lining fairways.

Whole place is a bug, Green is absolutely terrible, whole course covered in tree debris.
