Good course

Course was in good condition the only issue I have is that players are allowed on who share a set of clubs and this slows down the pace

Enjoyable

Course in fair condition, interesting layout with a few tricky holes especially for first time players. Greens in good condition for a busy municipal course. This course really wins on value for money if you can get a round below £12.

Not bad at all

Very deceiving course and the initial welcome behind the knackered Sports Hall is off putting... but...

Not a bad course at all, I have seen many private courses with less footfall present a worse course than this.

The 18th par 3 is a nightmare, it’s so short.... how hard can it be...... you decide!!!!

Definitely worth the money, give it a go!

Great Municipal

Thoroughly enjoyed playing this municipal course, which is in fairly decent condition, plenty of challenging holes and a few blind tee shots.

Little worrying that the public walk across the course given the blind shots.

Overall a good course and excellent value for money, would certainly recommend.

Municipal course

Cannock Park is a very good golf course for the money that you pay. The holes are very varied(although there are no Par 5’s) and the general condition is good.

The main drawbacks are that the greens are rather slow and you have to keep an eye out for general public walking around the course and cross crossing fairways.

Good for beginners

I live about a 10 minute drive from this course is geographically it’s great for me. I wasn’t expecting Augusta but it was half decent.

Pros

- economically priced

- decent greens

- challenging holes

- staff were reasonably friendly

- good parking

- tesco nearby for refreshments

Cons

- Perhaps I’m not the most observant of folk but the layout and general signposting for next tee location is in my opinion, very poor.

- I understand this is a Muncipal course but I played 18 holes today and had 1) a small child run onto the green, pick up my ball and run off. 2) dog walkers walking straight up the fairway 3) general public walking along fairways/generally not being very courteous

All that said, for the price, and distance from where I live, I would return, but only for those reasons.

- people trying their luck at a free game and interrupting yours

Excellent Municipal Course

As a fairly newbie golfer (play no more than 10 times a year), and having only played par 3s until now I was almost blown away by this course.

The course is clean and tidy, the greens well maintained, although cut a little higher than I've played on) and the layout brilliant.

There are a couple of daunting holes, the first with its dog leg left over a ditch and a couple where the green is not in view make for a challenge for anyone (I'm glad I was part wrong someone who has played there regularly).

For a municipal course I was expecting the bunkers to be in poor condition, the greens to be covered in pitch marks and litter everywhere. That's credit to the green staff and also the players who regularly use the course.

No par 5s, but a couple of the 4s are decent length and the 3s are tricky, especially the 18th which has just the green to aim for.

Will be back as soon as possible.

Good value for money

A smart short course that has some real plus points. The cost of a round and greens are a positive for this course.

It is strange that you can have so many people walking across a golf course while playing and also a little worrying. No par 5’s is disappointing but I can’t be to harsh on this course.

If your new to the game then this is a good course to play and build confidence on.

Nice Municipal

Nice muni course in good condition with some pretty holes and some qwerky ones too. Good pace of play and friendly golfers. No par 5s.

Public far too close to the course and paths cross fairways with blind tee shots. Trees need taking back as overgrown on course. Tees are in poor state with trees affecting swing and not flat, particularly ladies tees. Very tricky to navigate if you don't know where you are going, even with map on scorecard. Great value for money.

Enjoyed round, but probably would not be back.

No PAR 5’s!

Course is part of a larger Leisure complex.

There is no bar due to this and no obvious changing facilities near to the reception which is tucked away at the rear of the building.

However the course which has no par 5’s was in great condition and is a great challenge for all handicaps.

Whilst playing saw a few dog walkers and person cutting across pathways across the course but this did not slow down our play.

Greens were in very good condition.

For the price paid thought it was amazing value for money and will play here again.
