Cannock Park Golf Course

Played this course a few times very good but on my last visit not maintained at all the fairway was as long as the rough very poor

well laid out course some good challenging holes for my level of play a good walk greens could do with some work as could they T boxes as some of these were in a terrible condition. and they need to reduce the numbers on the course as we got caught in a couple of bottle necks as there were that many on the course with a bit of work could be a cracking course

Overall i enjoyed myself and thought the course was enjoyable. Other golfers was friendly and easy to chat to and even didn’t mind asking for tips as i’ve only got into playing golf a few months ago. Greens and fairways was all kept to a good condition but I can only compare it to playing the par 3 at Lichfield Golf and Country Club. But as that par 3 is the same price at the 18 hole course at Cannock, you can’t go wrong. Definitely would recommend

If you read the reviews you wouldn't go, but we did and I'm glad I did , we followed 2 four balls, they were slow, these council owned courses let anybody play,.

I thought the fairways needed a bit of TLC, but saying that the greens were absolutely superb,

We had 2 older members behind us very kind told us which way the fairways ran,

Can't fault the course for the price, the only thing I would have to say, is the directions are RUBBISH, the distance boards on the Tees need to be bigger than a postage stamp, that's if the Tees have got them,

Plus the ladies Tees have to be set out better. Plus could do with more hazards, bunkers, alot more. Make it more interesting, couldn't say anything about the shop it was shut, and that's a Saturday, not good.

So overall I would definitely recommend this course

It's my second time on this course and I think it's a course you start to warm too. It's a pleasant, friendly and relaxed atmosphere and quite challenging. The only criticism is the number of dog walkers and others wondering about seemingly without any regard to the dangers of golf balls but as they say you can't have everything.

We expected, probably wrongly it to be a bit of a dive. Course is really decent and we both really enjoyed it. Greens where in good nick, the members let us through.. cant ask for more really...

Considering this is a municipal course I thought it was excellent and we had a very enjoyable round with each of the holes providing a different challenge

Haven't played here for a long time. Course was in reasonable condition for a municipal course. Greens were good and very tricky, not a long course but some very challenging holes. Very good value for money, only gripe is there's no par 5 holes. Weather was bad so very wet in places.

I used to play this course weekly when i was a teenager. Hadn't been back for around 25 years.

It's a cheap.and cheerful municipal course. No snobbiness.at all.

Condition wise, was decent enough. The tees could use some work, fairways were nice, rough fairly harsh., greens decent in the main - although quite slow.

The general public do walk on the course, sometimes with 4 legged friends. So be prepared for the odd bit of dog poo in places - only saw one instance of this though.

Overall i would recommend. Fairly gentle course. No par 5's and only par 66

On arrival Reception was closed due to Staff shortages. We proceeded to the 1st tee and got on with our round. This was the course I learned to play golf on about 30 years ago and it has matured well. The greens were good if not a bit slower than I would like but still they were good especially for the price of a round. Overall the course is short but still challenging even with the amount of the public walking through and around the parkland golf course. At the 18th we encountered 2 youngsters walking straight across the green as we were about to tee off and had to shout for them to get off the green, could've been a nasty injury if we had tee'd off. But overall a very enjoyable round and good memories of playing here from 30 years ago.
