Beautiful coastal course
Picturesque scenery with views out to sea and also of the old tin mines. Big changes in scenery from front to back nine.
The course itself was in great condition and provides a good challenge despite it’s short length. Plenty of quirky holes (as you’d expect on an old links course) and some challenging tee shots particularly when the wind was across you.
Temporary greens and all greens poor condition
Wasn’t told when booking there was some temporary greens, which in winter is understandable but in summer?! that said, even a heads up would have been nice. All other greens were patchy and in poor condition anyway. Fairways also poor with lots of thatch and dead grass even though it’s not been a dry summer. Grounds keepers working seemed oblivious trying to play through, so just went around them to save playing up on them. We wouldn’t be in a rush to come back.
Cape cornwall
the course layout and views are were stunning. The issue for us was the greens that were little better than pitch and putt greens.
It’s a shame as this course has great potential. We played it 25 years ago and it was in much better condition then.
Ok to play if treated as a municipal and at that price point.
?
Not well marked out at all so you have to guess we're your going sometimes even to find a tee the group in front had the same problem. Just not my cup of tee let's say played much nicer courses for less money view are stunning tho and the staff are very friendly.
Can be…
I have played this course 4-5 times in 10 years. This place is fantastics, wild, rugged (north west Cornwall), windy, nature at its best !! Now the course …is quite the opposite sorry
A very poor and dangerous layout ! There have been 3 different owners since 2011 and none of them took in consideration this aspect . 2 the course condition is just : Cutted .. don’t expect links grass or pot bunker or proper greens ! Bunkers are with a kind of river stones sand and fairway/green like a short cut pasture ! Don’t come to play golf but yes if you want a nice promenade in flip flops hitting some balls Decent clubhouse nice staff .
Next owner please invest first in a proper golf architect and a good greenkeeper !
Can be…a fantastic course if
Poor !
Greens 1/10 fairways 4/10 course layout 6/10 . The course is in a poor condition . 10 temporary greens ( were not told about this ) . The buggy ride was more enjoyable than the golf . Will not play again !
Awful greens
Played this course many times and used to be a member but never seen it in such poor condition. Yes I know we have had a wet winter but it drains really well so amazed to see eight temporary greens!
Cape Cornwall
Lovely course
Great views and aceneey
The seven holes at end of round very challenging especially for beginners golf
Holiday golf
Great scenic course for a game of golf on your holidays. However check the weather, because the fog can make it a little tricky.
Stunning day
Always a pleasure playing this gem on the Cornish coast. The course was completely empty, the fairways were immaculate and the greens were the best we’ve seen them here. The weather was absolutely gorgeous.
The day was slightly ruined by the very grumpy gent at reception. Not even a good morning on arrival. We said we had booked and paid online. He just said “yup”Couldn’t make us a coffee/maybe didn’t want to. No food available at 11 am when we finished. You wonder how they get through an interview sometimes.
Terrible course with amazing views
When we booked to play this course we were so excited given the views and with the rating on golf now we were sure it was worth the money, it wasn’t.
Don’t get me wrong the views are amazing, but I don’t think they have anyone looking after the course. Tee boxes were probably the worst I’ve seen, thankfully we were playing off of the whites where they obviously don’t get used often but uncut, ball above/below your feet. It’s like playing in a farmers field, other than the views nothing really exciting. Overgrown bunkers, just mud not even sand. Don’t even get me started on the greens, I understand it’s open to the elements up there but it’s like playing on a bobbly car park. Will definitely not be playing here again.
Cape Cornwall
Stunning views and very different types of holes, which were enjoyable. The picture I’ve added is the view from the 15th green.
Cape Cornwall
Great course as always. Wonderful weather, idyllic setting, course in really good condition, pretty much had it to myself, got a credit via Golf Pass and staff (Keith) as friendly and welcoming as always.
A fantastic way to spend a Monday afternoon.
Cornwall
Played the course in brilliant sunshine, after having a lovely linch in the delightful club house, where staff were excellent and very friendly. Course has spectacular views and if not really to tough, some holes take a lot of thinking to play with positioning of the ball a priority. The course was very dried out and unfortunately the greens were not in great condition, but it didn't stop us having a great day and fun round.
Turned up on 18th June 2024. Paid my green fee.
Found a shocking temp green on the first hole & the 4th hole after not being told by the pro shop they were there.
Actual greens were so bad I think a 5 day cricket test match had been played on them. I have never seen greens in such poor condition. Greenkeeper cannot have any pride in the job. After spending two minutes trying to work out if I was on the 7th green or not!!! I quit. Walked into the pro shop and told them they should have told me about the temps and shocking condition of the course before I played. They had no remorse and didn’t even apologise. I wouldnt play there again even if they asked me to and paid me to. I warn everyone here not to think about taking your clubs…just walk your dog. That’s all it’s good for.
