Beautifully presented course

The course was in fabulous condition and the greens ran fair and true even with a heavy downpour of rain. Facilities on site are good and still managed to book a buggy last minute albeit wouldn’t recommend you do that ! The only slight criticism is that there are some holes with blind tee shots and the course would benefit from marker posts in the fairway on some holes. Other than that it was fab!

Played on a hot deal for £18 ...good value

Great day, friendly pro spoken to on arrival. Putting green and net out of order due to covid.....great course, with good fast greens. If you haven’t played before then well worth the visit.

Not worth it

Not worth £60 to play, very short course, not in good condition, would not recommend. Poor layout, no character to the course.

Seaside course

Played as part of a 2 day golfing trip to Cornwall. Best view from the first tee I've seen for a long while. Virtually had the course to ourselves for the afternoon. The greens were good with a few challenging undulations. We did note that there seemed to be few flat fairways. Great course in good condition and would certainly recommend a visit.

Stunning views and challenging course

We chose to play this course during our 2week stay in Cornwall, stunning views over the English Channel, back 9 more challenging that the front 9. Course in great condition, good shots rewarded and bad shots punished as they should be. Oh and an interesting 9th hole. Overall really enjoyed our round. Would recommend

Stunning Views!!

Lovely course with incredible views over the coastline! Lots of interesting holes with wide fairways but plenty of well placed hazards and blind shots into greens to keep it a good challenge. Also a nice little finish as you head in land to the last few holes.

Only very slight negative was the greens which had a bit too much grass on in places and we’re a bit slow but it had been raining heavily the day before.

Holiday game

The course is in a beautiful setting, mostly on the cliff top with great views over the bay. There many good holes but the 9th needed prior knowledge. The greens were a little damp from rain earlier in the week, but played well.

The staff were all most accommodating and helpful. The golf now deal was exceptional value. I would definitely play there again.

Fantastic location

Carlyon has great views across St. Austell bay, and when we played, was calm and very warm adding to its appeal. The course is nicely laid out , although on a lot of holes the ball is either above or below your feet because of the slope on the fairways, but it is a cliff top links so is to be expected. The greens were very good if a little hard, but it has been very dry. The major criticism is the lack of parking. We had to park at the hotel and walk back to the course, which was not a great distance, but if they expect large groups of people on occasions, then they should be catered for and not inconvenienced. A nice course worth playing, but there are better in the area, so it pays to shop around.

Pristine even in winter

Fabulous course with amazing views. Sea fog made the first 5 holes a little difficult but it soon cleared up. Considering that it was the tail end of winter the course was is great condition with well maintained Tees and greens. Highly recommended.

Stunning views.

Played here end of August on a hot calm day. Stunning course and views, wide fairways and true greens. I'm sure on a windy day it would be a different course to play.
