Challenging Course Layout
Layout of the course is quite challenging with Basically every hole apart from the Par 3’s bearing left or right. The greens were quite well kept, however the fairways and tee boxes need some work in my opinion. Value for money was quite good in the respect is was only £10 per golfer, however anything more than this I would not be willing to pay.
Pace of play
Completely over booked
Why is it more and more lately no one seems to have the most basic of golf eticate of letting people faster than themselves play through
Completely ruined the round
Condition
Course startiung to look unkempt, paths poor
Greens always good
Great greens in the Epping Forest
Top quality greens given the time of year and high volume of rain in recent days.
The course was to me an unusual combination of public access land with 18 tees and greens laid down. Walkers and dog owners were very golf-aware and no problems or delays encountered. The fairways are a bit rough and rutted but the greens were fantastically well kept. Interesting and enjoyable for my first visit.
Very good
A great course on the edge of Epping forest.
A good mix of holes to test your game and plays well throughout the year.
The only downside is the clubhouse could be more welcoming despite the sign saying otherwise
great day condition spoiled
Tees were very poor, fairways okay and greens looking okay and slow, good test all round with all types of shots needed.
Cheap golf round
Started at 11:30 and it was a bit overcrowded. You couldn’t fault the greens they were perfect and well maintained. All the fairways was not flat with a lot of ridges, Very rough terrain and the carry was a lottery. Many walkers crossing whilst playing. Nice upmarket cafe attached to the pro shop with friendly staff. If the fairways was a little flatter I would return.
Chingford GC
Value for money on a Bank holiday, Condition of course needs some attention, Greens being attacked by crows and some in poor condition with dead patches.
Excellent value for money.
This course is fantastically maintained - it’s not even privately owned and it’s better than some private clubs!
For £10 it is incredible value. The fairways were decent, the greens were in very good condition and the tee boxes were pretty good too.
The only downside is the fact that there is a lot of dog walkers and runners crossing over the course. It could also be a little better sign posted as it’s easy to get lost on your way to finding the next tee.
Other than that, I think you can’t go wrong for £10. It’s a nice course and the fairways are very wide so it’s a bit more playable for the higher handicapped golfer.
Decent for a knockabout
The course is ok for players to get some practice in.
However, the fairways and greens weren’t in good conditions. The greens ran slow (which was surprising given the heat we had running up to the round) and fairways were long in parts.
Some good challenging holes though.
left after 9 holes
This course is a municipal course on common land. I don't feel what I paid was reflected in any way by the experience. My 9 holes took 2.5 hours as there were so many people on the course (one five ball ahead). There were walkers on practically every hole with dogs running loose. The tee boxes were an absolute joke and the greens might as well have been temps.
It should be cheaper so that people don't have any expectations.
No warm up area, not enough signs to next tee. Greens good for the time of year
An excellent public course
A testing little gem of a course with every hole a challenge. Greens in good nick. Some tees a bit ropey but otherwise a well kept course. Well worth visiting a few times to get the layout of the course.
Good fun
Nice course would be improved with ball cleaners on tees or small map of hole as a few holes are a little blind but over all nice
Good course
Apart from a few greens that needed a little work doing to them, this was a lovely course and would defo come back again
Nice course
Great course overall. The course is in good shape and the pace of play was great. Recommend getting out earlier as it seemed to get busy towards noon. Challenging even without bunkers.
Early Start
Great value for money although some tee's and green's need a little TLC
