Wet course
Is was a very wet course but considering the weather it has faced was playing well but one or greens were like a sponge. Pace of play was pretty good.
Staff are fantastic
Perfect Condtions
So this is my Home course and this would be my last game of the year depending on the Weather. Pace was much better this time round and the weather was brilliant.
Very good course. Excellent value.
A nice course without frills.parking and cafe available. Good value and the greens are for the most part well maintained.
Great course
Played for the first time. Great value, beautiful fairways, greens in great nick. Couldn’t recommend enough
Too slow
Even old people who can't hot the bank in buggies don't give way to the faster players.
Annoying
Too many Four Balls
Great course, really enjoy playing there, but once again the Pace of Play was very slow with 5:15hrs. Have mentioned before that a Half Way house would be a great idea.
Pace of Play
Was really disappointed with the Pace of Play as there was too many four balls. Understood that Sunday's forecast was not good so they crammed as much as they could in on Saturday. The course however was in top nick and really enjoyed the Golf. Amenities as I have said before a Halfway house selling refreshments or even more balls would be great
Brilliant Bang For Buck
Really enjoy Chingford. Easily accessible from central London, the course punches above its weight in terms of course lay out, year-round condition and general enjoyment. Can get a touch slow on a Saturday, but pace is usually good.
Best value course in North/East London that I've seen.
Slow play
Extremely slow pay. 3 groups backed up on the 8th. Walked off at the 9th
Wave-y fairways.
Negatives: Wavey fairways, every single one. Little ridges and troughs that run perpendicular to the fairway direction, which steals distance, causes weird kicks left and right and guarantees that you are always hitting an uphill lie, downhill lie or you are on a ridge top (almost never) or a trough (often). So you hit a banger drive straight down the middle and your reward for centering the fairway is a bad lie. Nothing is flat but the greens and tees (not all the tees).
Greens were just punched/airated so putting was slow and bumpy. A lot of greens were tiny. Even though there is a lot waiting on the tees there are no benches on the course, except for one on 17 and 18. The creeks are never week-whacked so the dry creeks are full of debris and finding a ball is rare. Poorly maintained trails between greens and tees. There is a par-3 with two mature trees directly in line with the green that you have to hit over. OK for the men or big hitting women but most women would have trouble getting over them. They should be topped off 15 feet lower. The layout of the holes is just OK. There should be a little snack bar at the turn, it would make a lot of money. But no, there is no water or food so you better bring it. Rental cart office is credit card only, no cash. I like to use cash. The snack bar takes both.
Positive: Staff was nice.
Chingford is a very good course
Overall good golf course for those who don’t play a lot or often. Needs a halfway house to great a drink or more golf balls hahaha. Pace was really slow and needs a Marshall to push players along
Nice course!
My only tip is INSECT REPELLENT as u got bitten to death and am still suffering a week later! Wear long trousers and long sleeves.
You have been warned.
Great course when it isn’t busy
The pace of play on weekends is shocking, something needs to be done about it because there were 15 minute waits on the majority of tee boxes!
Otherwise it’s a great course to have a relaxing round on with some challenging shots required throughout.
Pace of Play
Was pretty disappointed to find out that there was a competition in the morning which effected the Pace of Play with too many four balls. I have mentioned before that there should be a Halfway House for refreshments, purchase of golf balls !!!
Course was in great nick and staff are always friendly
Great course!
Greens were in great condition. A good course with variation so you didn’t get bored! Will definitely go again!
