Golf
Played the course and was very impressed with the fairways and the greens were the best condition I have seen on a course this year so far true fast and very little pitch marks. The course is tight and often hear golf balls hitting trees. The transition from hole 8 green to 9 tee is a walk back down 8th fairway and a bit awkward. But overall I enjoyed the course
Excellent conditions
The course was in great shape and greens best the have been in for a while
Excellent customer service with staff very helpful
Definitely coming back
Chingford Golf
Very nice afternoon round of golf, fairways in condition was very busy so a bit slow
Fabulous day on the course
I have been back to the course for a few times and made friends
Beautiful Setting
The course is set in Epping Forest which is a wonderful backdrop. The greens and fairways were in excellent condition particularly bearing in mind the dry weather. All three of us are over 70 years old and felt the course had a very good ballance of challenge without being too difficult.
Great day for golf
Have to say playing Chingford course today was brilliant. As soon as I arrived Luke (course manager) had my pass and receipt ready, then I knew I was going to have a good game
Chingford Golf Course
Nice local course but pace was slow
Some of the Tee’s need addressing but overall I do like the course
Chingford golf course
Like this course as it’s close to home and I seem to play well on it. The staff are excellent, very polite and helpful
Question though I would like to get my handicap card marked, how do I do this
Enjoyable day
A very good day out on a sunny day, as the pace of play was good & as a single ball , was waved through by a two ball who were playing at the course for the first time.
This is a nice public course & has some difficult holes.
I do feel there could be better signage towards the next hole, especially to the nineth hole. Also be aware of the odd person crossing various fairways.
I would recommemd any golfer to give this course a try & is very good value for money.
Great apart from Winter tees
Course is in pretty good condition although the tee boxes are all being worked on. Can live with a winter tee however most were on a significant slope
Public field
By a country mile the worst course I’ve ever played. No such thing as a fairway here just a big field essentially. And for £25… terrible value for money.
Granted in winter months you expect some muddy areas, temp greens & tee boxes, but this place doesn’t even look like it’s maintained during summer months. I’ve genuinely played pitch & putt courses in better condition.
Don’t waste your time or money, choose other local courses (Epping, Woolston Manor, Theydon Bois etc).
Goodbye Old Friend!
I've been a 'pay n play' visitor to Chingford for years but this was my last round before I move away - I'm really, really going to miss this course. Epping Forest is a fantastic backdrop for the course and the holes are so varied - it's a great course to play. Not overly long at all, and not overly difficult; it's just a really enjoyable round. So, there were tee mats, it was wet and pretty muddy in parts (but where isn't right now) but the greens were really good considering. Good strategy is need to really score. Stay out of trees and you'll love it too!
And I finally drove the par 4 16th - at last!!
I've loved playing Chingford and I'll definitely come back one day........
Final score 75 (a 3 over round)
