Twilight
Course wasn’t busy. As soon as the course shop was closed people joined the course without paying.
Recommend strongly!
Course in great condition, friendly staff and pace of play decent.

I have said before that there should be a Half way house where you can buy a coffee or more golf balls !!
Great Value
Played this course for the third time recently, and have generally found it to be great value!
January - After quite a wet winter, course was in a very playable condition and for £27 it was exactly what we wanted!
April - Played during a downpour after a couple of dry weeks, and as a result there was a fair bit of standing water and some muddy patches. Not the best, but think this was a bit of a one off from my experience
May - £11 twilight round, fairways were firm and well kept, green not overly quick but in decent condition and generally had no complaints about the conditions! Good course for beginners and mid-handicappers, low handicappers may find it a bit boring but still a decent challenge.
Overall, very much recommend this place in terms of value for money!
Good Challenge
Nice course with an interesting layout that tests many shot types. Course was in good condition when we played. Greens were firm but receptive to approach shots. Pace of play was a bit slow and many people from the public walking dogs etc on public pathways proved a slight annoyance but overall well worth playing here.
Lovely course
Lovely course great value for the
Money only down side was pace of play at times
That's Better
So having played when the course was pretty wet, it was nice to play when it hasn't rained for a few days and that the course is drying out which is much better!!
Order of Pace was good as well with 4:30 is what I would expect. It would be really good if there was a Halfway Club house for refreshments/Toilet break, it would make a killing in takings.
Wet day out
Course was wet can’t blame them for that. Course for the condition was a great day. Weather cleared up back 9 . Lovely staff . Pace was good. And I’m sure with a couple dry weeks it will look great
Been better .
Course generally in good condition , but the greens had been heavily sanded which made them very two paced .
Great value for money
Great course and incredibly acessable from central london. The lady in the clubhouse is always incredibly friendly. For the price, you really can't argue with this course. The fairways may be a little muddy and the tee boxes sometimes arent completely flat, but its a great place to spend a few hours. Just don't expect Augusta!
It’s not Augusta but for £15 you can’t go wrong
Played this for the first time and as a solo,
Staff are friendly and welcoming.
The course is quite uneventful but was in decent condition. Greens were quiet slow and bobbly but again - 18 holes for £15..
Would play again for sure as a casual / quick practice round.
Chingford Golf Course
The course is in need of some TLC but considering that weather has been awful I suppose you could give a little but we are coming into a new season and the course needs a lot of work
Pace wasn’t bad but the guy at reception was excellent
Don’t play when it’s been raining day before!
Walked off after 9 holes ,par 5 9th fairway from tee mat to green was like the Serengeti plains.take your wellies if rain has fallen within a month of Chingford.
Holes 1-8 were almost as bad.
Can’t believe they charge full price when course is in this condition
They can do better
I’ve played at Chingford for the last couple of years and have always considered it my ‘home’ course since moving to the area. But I think my patience has run out. My biggest gripe is with the winter tee boxes. Some of them are in such poor condition, they’re so worn down and muddy it makes it very difficult to get a solid stance without slipping. If we’re forced to use them they need to be in better condition. It’s a really easy fix that will make a world of difference. I won’t be back until the winter mats are gone, if at all.
Good value
I love playing here, so much course for your buck.
Soft and wet in places , especially walking down the 9th hole but thats to be expected this time of year.
Greens need attention
The greens need some attention, I know the weather has not helped but they are uneven. The course needs proper drainage but pace of play was good.
Winter
The mud slush from the rain has frozen up so chipping is difficult, but the fairways and greens are amazing for a public course as always. I love playing here , its just a shame I live in NW London where they enjoy charging extortionate fees around golf courses for amateurs.
The 9th fairway is in a bad way, course management is key to avoid the puddles.
Excellent value for money , I paid on a hot deal , can't wait to return 😀
Good course
Enjoyed my first trip to Chingford in a wet and cold Sunday. I was paired up with a lad who’d played the course a lot, which was helpful as the layout does take a bit of getting used to given the public paths through the forest. Despite the awful weather, the course played well and was the right level of challenge for a medium/high handicapper. 18th is a lovely way to finish, hitting back towards the private clubhouse and the road, for some extra tension! The course is the same as Royal Epping Forest, with the Chingford course having a separate cafe and pro shop. Good value for money and right next to the overground and bus stops.
