Good value
Chipping is a very nice course well worth the green fees. It is pretty narrow in places but has some great par 3 and overall good layout.
Mixed feelings
Course is excellently maintained - greens were exceptionally fast when I visited- but no complaints about the standard or their condition.
The layout is very tight and the holes aren’t especially interesting, so you need to be accurate.
Difficulty I had was that my Garmin didn’t compute with the course yardage - and there were no numbers on the tee boxes so for a first timer it was unclear where I was heading and if I was in the correct place. This made it quite frustrating - however i can’t fault the course for its condition or for the staff.
A challenging course in windy conditions, in very good shape for the time of year. The greens were good and fairways still firm. The amount of leaves were a slight problem in finding the ball on some holes but difficult to do much about given the amount that were falling. Slightly expensive for the time of year at £35 but will visit again if there is a reasonable deal available
Well worth a visit
We arrived late, due to the car breaking down! but the pro went out of his way to ensure we got off in good time.
The conditions were near perfect, glorious sunshine, no wind, considering the recent awful weather we got really lucky.
We chose to play this course as our home course was only partially open, due to the adverse weather conditions, as such it was really surprising to find the course in such good condition. So if you want to play when it's been wet, this is one course to consider.
The greens had been hollow tined and treated, so weren't at their best, but this has to be expected at this time year.
The layout is good, with a nice mix of holes to suit players of all standards. Due our late arrival we had to go off the 10th, tucking in behind a seniors 4 ball, fair play to them we hardly had to wait.
The club house has a hotel attached, which was quite busy due to there being a wedding (they got lucky with the weather too!), but the bar staff were very attentive and pleasant.
No hesitation to recommend this venue for a small or larger group.
Pleasant sunday afternoon
Good points good pace of play, friendly pro and reasonable cost bearing in kind I played at a weekend.
Bad points very few memorable holes and if you want to warm up before your round you need to bring your own balls and head for the practice area which is 250 yard walk from the car park .
Lovely venue
I have not played here for 25 years and I am pleased to say the course remains a relatively short but always interesting course. Layout is good and I suspect even better once the trees start to get leaves. Greens were in good condition, a little slow buts probably just the time of the year. Really nice club house and good looking pro shop.
Overall everyone really enjoyed the game and we agreed to come back again in the summer and see it at its best.
Will recommend to friends.
Especially enjoyed the par 3 over the water!
Played here for the first time after seeing some nice pictures of the course on the internet, it was very well maintained, will be back to play again soon, The man working in the pro shop was very friendly too!
Chipping Norton / Cotswold GC
I was very dubious of booking through GolfNow as I'd not heard of them in the UK but took a chance. We got to play a 4 ball on a public holiday at 11am for £12 each through GolfNow !!!
Last time I played this course was under different owners and it looked shabby as this was a top course in the area. Now that money has been pumped in with anew chalet style pro shop etc, the course is once again back to its best. Friendly course, challenging with some great holes. The course has been changed and you now play the back nine first so the last few holes can be tiring (which were the old front 9).
