About
Designed by Dick Phelps, Forest Creek Golf Club has been named "Best Public Golf Course in Central Texas" by Golf Digest as well as "Golf Club of the Year" by Club Corporation of America. Phelps' design features plush, narrow fairways, and its namesake Forest Creek that comes into play on 11 holes. Many of the holes dogleg, and its most difficult holes are the long par 4s. These holes are especially evident on the back nine, with holes 10, 15, and 18 all playing well over 400 yards. The 15th is the most difficult, playing a bogey-welcoming, par 5-like 472 yards.

Winter Golf conditions
Course was not in good shape. Greens looked like they had treated them with some kind of winterizing Fairways winter grass. Challenging course. Fun to play. Staff always pleasant. Love the free small bucket of range balls and free hot dog (even though I don’t eat meat).
Quit after 9 holes
I usually like playing this course. This Wed it was the worst I have experienced. Greens are usually in nice shape. They were average at best, same for fairways. But by far was the terrible pace of play. It took almost 3 hours to play the front 9. Two groups in front of us. From the 5th hole, we could see no one was on the 6th green, nor the entire par 5 7th hole. SO that one group was at least two holes behind. We never once saw a marshal to speed things along. Because of all this, I would not recommend the course until the pace of play improves.
Slow round
Great course layout with challenging features. Only challenge was a frost delay (not a usual occurrence, I know). This created slow play and delay in getting off regularly scheduled tee time.
That aside, worth the drive.
Way over priced for greens that are this bad.
I just can’t believe that these greens are in this condition after being replace 10 years ago. The greens are dormant like all greens are during winter, but these are covered in rot or fungicides. No true roll, your putting on rotted greens.
Disappointed
I was surprised - they sell a tee time BUT they did not give there full normal deal. They give a small bucket of range balls as part of there deal.
Excellent Golf
Great conditions. even with freshly sanded greens. Not overly challenging, and fair. A consistent layout that allows for a good rhythm, thoughtful club selection, and good scores. The pace of the greens is great, bring your lag game. A really worthwhile experience.
Nice course
Overall nice course for the value. Some greens seemed over watered TBH, but still is good shape. A few had patches of turf replaced that were growing back.
Fairly good pace of play.
Most prices on all courses have gone up, this one is no exception, but at least not as much as Star Ranch has.
Great course
We had a nice Thanksgiving playing this course. The greens were in good shape and the layout is somewhat challenging.
Great Value, Great Staff
This has to be the friendliest most helpful staff of any golf course I have visited. And the beer and hot dog included with your tee time is a nice bonus. Cannot recommend enough!

It was a nice round. Would be cool if we paired with people who can play.
