Forest Creek Golf Club
About
Designed by Dick Phelps, Forest Creek Golf Club has been named "Best Public Golf Course in Central Texas" by Golf Digest as well as "Golf Club of the Year" by Club Corporation of America. Phelps' design features plush, narrow fairways, and its namesake Forest Creek that comes into play on 11 holes. Many of the holes dogleg, and its most difficult holes are the long par 4s. These holes are especially evident on the back nine, with holes 10, 15, and 18 all playing well over 400 yards. The 15th is the most difficult, playing a bogey-welcoming, par 5-like 472 yards.

Golf course or neighborhood fitness & play facility?
Young unattended children were using the ponds on the 9th hole to play while you're trying to play a shot through them to the green. Marshall totally oblivious to what is going on course. When play slowed to 15-20 minutes on holes, he said some guys weren't keeping pace. He never showed back up again. Probably because he had no idea of his job and didn't want to hear the complaints. As a result of no course supervision , we had one neighborhood JOGGER running the cart paths like it was an iron man fitness course. On his 2nd pass around, he totally came out of the blue as I teed into a par three. I looked up as he jumped into view and the shot line drove into his right shoulder. He began screaming and said he was calling Williamson County sheriffs office and wanted my drivers license # and hauled back the way he came. He was wearing blue tank top and blue running shorts. He also had his ear phones. He had no idea he was on private property.....unless the club normally allows the neighborhood to use their facilities for other than playing golf. The course had lack of care to tee box areas. It was really out of control. No roll on the greens. I don't recall a round I've played in 25 years that could top this experience. I was so glad when I saw this review request in my email. I only hope that it is published and not culled out to make the course look better. Whoever is doing the survey is welcome to contact me further on these matters. The only thing positive is that maybe the course management will take this review as an honest assessment of their current situation. Sincerely
good time
good course, paired with good people, good weather. had a good time!
After rain strom
The course was cart path only because of all the rain we had in Round Rock. The course was changeling but enjoyable to play
Good course
Not a fantastic layout. A good course to jump around in and from. Driving range was kind of subpar. Overall felt like a city course more than a private course. I had a great pairing as the folks here are friendly at best. Greens are ok.
good course for weekend golfer
make sure you take a collared shirt. It is required to play. Booked on golfnow.com and was not told about that. Had to buy a shirt there but it was reasonably priced. overall had a good time. good course with some challenging holes for the average weekend golfer. descent facilities and staff was very polite and wanted to make sure your round was the best it can be.
Nice time
Very enjoyable nice place. Well worth the money, especially when booking tee time thru golf now.
Just ok
Course is in average shape. Pretty dry. Greens are bumpy.
Great course
First time here, was windy and very few groups were playing but the course was in great shape, the greens were a little less well kept than the rest of the course but it is an amazingly inexpensive course
This Course has grest vews and exiting holes
I recomend the experience to play this Course, I like the greens they are in good shape, I will like to play this Course again
Jack and Jill rolling down the hill...
Felt like a huge playground of golf. I was a little disappointed about mud, which intervened swing. The greens are definitely tricky. The views are breathtaking without the houses.
Great day to golf
I like the course even though there are difficult doglegs. Unfortunately it had rained the day before, so play was sloppy and muddy. It was still a great day to be out golfing!
Texas trip
Always like going there ... Nice course. Staff is gear !
first timer.
Really enjoyed the quality of the tee boxes, and greens. Exceptionally well maintained. I just had a hard time with loosing balls. The foliage near out of bounds was challenging for me. The dog left and right holes were very tough on me. I lost tons of balls. My fault and NOT the course. The course is too hard for me. I have to get better.
extremely challenging course
There are many blind holes, lots of trees in play, crazy doglegs. Good course but very hard to know where to hit for a first time player. The facilities are poor but the golf worth the trip.
Forest Creek... a true test from the tips...
Forest Creek gives you a little bit of everything. The course has holes that are extremely long and holes that require a player to hit targets both in the fairway and on greens. It's a great test of golf if you really want to know what kind of player you are.
Best conditioned public course I've seen in a while.
Great shape. True greens. Fair and fun. Better condition than TeraVista the day prior! Awesome value. Add a drink cart and you'd be gold.
Good conditio but overall enjoyment questionable...
I am a 10 handicap and played from the blue tees.
Pros....good condition, tree lined fairways, rolling terrain, well bunkered in good condition.
Cons...slooow play, no marshal, no beverage cart, too many blind shots, too much "target" golf required, too many severe doglegs (especially on two of the par fives). carts are in terrible condition and the entire fleet needs replacing.
Come on, keep the restroom open
Good day. Good course. Good round. We teed off around 3:30PM on Friday before the Labor Day weekend. We (twosome) teed off just before the crowd showed, and was able to finish in little less than 4 hours which is really good pace for Forest Creek. However, when we were done around 7:15ish, the everything was locked up, including the restroom. There were several other groups behind us that were still playing. We couldn't wash up or use the restroom. That's not right. I took a higher road, but I bet many guys will just relieve themselves against the wall or trees. Not very customers friendly thing to do.
