Great course

Greens in excellent condition, fairways held up well, a little boggy in areas but good considering all the poor weather of late. Lots of improvements on the fairways with tree maintenance. I would suggest you bring your own winter mat's to play off.

Great greens

Having played Cleckheaton many many times it's still a pleasure to return. The course my not be long by modern day standards but it's always a decent test for mere mortals. Especially now the ground is sodden. Despite the soft conditions the greens were great.

Pace of play

Loved the course, layout was brilliant and the conditions were great too. We had to cut our round short due to some of the slowest playing I have ever come across. We started a good 3 or 4 holes behind a ladies competition who we caught up by the 7th hole, they were taking upto 30 minutes in holes. Going down the ninth these ladies decided to take a break at the halfway house and as soon as we had finished up on the green they decided to rush up to the next tee and tee off. They stated to us that we weren’t aloud to play through as it was a competition, which in normally circumstances is more than acceptable but with their pace of play being so slow and only two of us playing compared to the three of them, it wouldn’t of changed any outcome letting us play through instead they had a build up of people behind them. On the 10th tee whilst waiting for them to finish the hole 2 other members behind us said they were going to play the front nine again as they are renowned for slow playing, another 2 members caught us up on the 14th hole and stated they booked on an hour and a half later to avoid this situation. Eventually we had to cut our round short on the 16th tee 4h20ms in, as my brother had to go to work on his night shift within in the next hour. A round that should of been been done and dusted around the 4 hour mark shouldn’t of taken this long.

I’m a member at south Bradford so I appreciate that you have to respect competitions but you also have to the take into consideration pace of play, which these ladies did not.

All in all loved the course, will happily play again as I know this isn’t the clubs fault.

Lovely course, good mixture of holes

Due to recent heavy rain there was some sand on some greens but thus was highlighted in advance and makes perfect sense to protect long term course long term.

Thus is a great course in West yorkshire

Course was in good condition considering recent weather.

Was my first time playing here and I will be going back because it was a great course. Some short par 4’s that could be drove but tough and challenging at the same time.

Excellent Course, unfriendly staff

This is a wonderful course that's clearly very well maintained, it has great views and some of the best holes I've played in Yorkshire, the par 3 5th is particularly great.

Beware if you want to take advantage of the 2 fore 1 golf vouchers here though, I called the club to check i could use them, and having been assured I could, I booked a tee time and purchased a voucher. On arrival I was told by the staff member in the club house that these vouchers were for the 'day rate' only and they couldn't be used for my booking, which was completely different to what I was told on the phone.

Overall a great course that I unfortunately won't be visiting again soon.

Can't wait to play again

Third visit here, a great course and friendly people, we played just behind a competition and play was busy but never really got held up considering.

It's a beautiful course to go around and some really good signature holes,
