Boggy but greens still good
The course is quite boggy, particularly in some areas, but to be expected with all the rain we've had. The greens are still in good condition though. I carried my clubs, I wouldn't recommend using a trolley with the course like this.
I paid 16.99 on a deal which is okay value. Their were no temporary greens, most of the tees were off mats. Fairway mats are mandatory.
The course is probably getting to the point where it may have to close if it continues raining.
Generally I like the course. A good test, with some nice holes. The par 3's are all different and challenging.
The staff are always friendly and I've had no problems with other golfers on the course after playing it 5 or 6 times. Their is a putting green, chipping area, practice bunker and a couple bets to warm up in.
Very varied holes
Played in very difficult conditions so scoring was challenging but still enjoyed it. The par 3s were excellent holes, all varied and difficult.
Certainly play it again but will wait for some decent weather.
Hidden Gem
Fantastic little course hidden just off the M62. Best greens I’ve played on this time of year. Course in good nick with plenty of ground staff about keeping it in great condition
Nice Layout
Layout of course very good. Couple of mats to tee off from but that is expected this time of year. Nice signature par 3 5th hole. Course played quite long due to damp fairways but overall a good test and worth the green fee.
Great course
Brilliant course. There are some really impressive looking holes. Even though we have had some heavy rain the course played really well. Will definitely play again in the future.
Excellent golf course
Fantastic Mckenzie designed course. A good test for all golfers
Cleckheaton
Me and a friend wanted to play a new course. Chose Cleckheaton as we had heard good things about it.
It didn’t disappoint. Pro shops was well equipped and staff very friendly. The putting green and short game area were fantastic
The course was in good condition. The fairways (when we found them) were good and all the greens were solid for this time of year. The layout was good and challenging. We really enjoyed it and are planning on going back
Corporate days
corporate day on and took 6 hours to complete. Make sure not playing same day as competition or corporate day .course was enjoyable but day spoilt by waiting so long on tees.
Very good local course
Good challenging course which is less than a mile from my home so I do enjoy playing the course at least once a year. Today we had an enjoyable 4 ball but frustratingly were held up by a 4 ball in front which caused a bottle neck and made the day longer than it should have. further frustration was finding that the bar had closed when we did finally finish the round. Luckily the Saville Arms in the local vicinity came to our much needed rescue
Shocking pace of play spoiled round
Played this course before and it’s a v good course in good condition. The reason for low scores on this review is that we ( 4 ball ) walked off after 12 holes . It had taken nearly 4 hours to complete 12 holes . There was an Am Am competition running and course was backed up with 3 groups waiting to tee off on each tee. If club has comps running it should not allow visitor bookings
Interesting layout
Course in very good condition. Challenging but fair. Enjoyable afternoon of golf.
