Confused
Paid for 8 tee times on golf now, and was then directed to pay at course.
Still golf now took my £1 for each golfer charge, when they didn’t need to.
So the round cost me £8 more than if I would of paid at the course
Last minute booking
Warm reception, good directions around course and course in good condition. Lengthy walks between some greens to tee boxes the only negative
Nice course, sub par greens
The course and staff were brilliant but the greens left much to be desired. Appreciate they were under repair but was like playing on a beach at times.
Slow but superb course conditions
I have to saybibwas taken back by how good the greens were and the general course condition BUT beware i am not sure if this is always the case but the pace of play was hurrendous, for the first time ever i had to walk off. A marshall looking guy came round in a buggy who done nothing. Playing as a 2 ball ibwould have maybe expected some of the 4 balls who were holding up the course to invite us through but no. I am sure this is not the case all the time but it ruined it for me
Nice course
Drayton golf course in tip top condition,, greens excellent , fairways good as well, overbooked thou and pace of play , the worst. To many people on the course
This course has some eccentric hole layouts.
I enjoyed playing with the two other ‘Fire sale’ golfers, mainly because one of them knew the course layout, it would have been very difficult to go from some of the greens to tees otherwise. The course is lacking in golf furniture, ie: benches for us oldies, there was only one on the whole course!
We had a beer afterwards and tried to order a meal, unfortunately all they had on offer was a filled bap which wasn’t sufficient.
Other than my comments above, we all had a pleasant afternoon.
Great day
Course in very good condition. Great value for money
Friday afternoon (very) slow stroll
Terribly slow. Perhaps too many short par 3s to blame. Short but course in lovely condition and would’ve been great if it wasn’t for hold ups. Quite close greens and tee boxes in many holes but not a problem; just makes the layout a little ugly.
Great value
Nice modestly priced course. Staff serving food and drink very friendly. Great range to warm up on with trackman facilities in bays
Average
This was a destination golf club for me and my best man, a middle ground between where we both live.
Upon arrival we spent 10 min searching for a member of staff in what seemed to be the main clubhouse - turns out the pro shop is in the driving range adjacent to the main building
We were then told we had been paired up to make a 4 ball, which without any notice was a bit disappointing. However no one turned up to pair with us at our tee time, so we teed off and were underway
The course itself is fine, the A34 running alongside it does ruin the scenery a bit, as do the large electrical pylons that criss cross the course
Lots of par 3's and short par 4's, nothing of note really. Apart from how often you cross paths on this tight and overlapping course
Cheap and cheerful, nothing more
Unfortunately I doubt we would re-visit anytime soon.
Great day
Course was great including the greens well recommended even though I had a nightmare that was down to me not the course, hope to play more there.
Worst course ever played
I have played around 200 courses around UK and most of the rest of the world. This has to be the worst ever. Staff in pro shop at check in were friendly and helpful but very much downhill when we got out on the course. No decent golfer minds a tough challenge but this course is a total joke!! Sorry people in Oxfordshire, but if this I’s the only place you get to play, I feel sorry for you!!
