About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

A little pricey for the basics. Bring your own insulated water container and a GPS app or watch.
Course conditions are consistently good.
Driving range is nice.
I expect a little more for the cost of a round at this course relative to others in the same price category.
GPS on cart. is pretty standard at this price level, but just an annoyance that it is not provided here.
Water coolers stationed at strategic points along the the course should be a given, none to be had. This is south central Texas, 90-100+ degree temps May through Sept.
Course restrooms?( Not one pair of port-a-cans, in the woods) expected.
Would play here more often if these things were provided.
Great day at silverhorn
What a great round on Memorial Day. Course conditions were excellent and the course was managed very well. I would advise anyone who plays to give this course a go.
Lots of 'Great', some 'Not So'...
Siverhorn is always in very good shape. I've never complained about Tees, Fairways or Greens- they're some of the best in San Antonio. However, the bunkers throughout the course were horrific! Some were obviously not maintained at all and were in need of overhaul, but the others that had sand in them had not been tended in many days. Overall, I do love this course, though!
One other thing, which will be minor for some, playing music on the practice range is fine, if you pick some decent tunes. The music selection had some of the worst music ever! Let's pick something bettter, team!
Terrible pace 7 hr round in triple digit heat
No marshal, no structure, took 2 hrs/40min to complete 1st 9 holes and back 9 over 3 hours
Don’t listen to the negative reviews.
I read some of the negative reviews and I was hesitant to play. I’m glad I didn’t let the reviews steer me away from the course. When I go to a golf course, I’m there to golf.. The course is in great shape. Fairways are nice and greens are running true.. Play tje course and you wont regret it…
Hidden Gem
Booked on golf now not knowing the local courses on a business trip. This place was beautiful, well run and a great track. Greens were immaculate. Fairways beautiful, green with lots of deer, wildlife and trees. Really got more than I was expecting. Will play this course on every SAT trip now.
Good course but not enough amenities. It was hot and no water stations. Did not the beverage cart much. Made for a long day.
Shaping Up
The course is in great condition with fairways and greens in good condition. There are no ball washers on this course, so get ready to spit to wash your ball. Pace was great, 3.5 hours to play 18!
Pleasure
It's always a joy to play this course when I'm in town, hats off to Silverhorn, they have their sh together ❤️
