Canyon Springs Golf Club
About
Canyon Springs Golf Club is a true Hill Country course. You need to stay on the fairways or bring plenty of balls. Using an old farm to build on this choice piece of Texas real estate, this land has been artfully transformed into what many golfers will refer to as among the very best of what Texas has to offer. With five sets of tee boxes on each hole, demanding greens, natural Hill Country surroundings and magnificent limestone waterfalls on two holes, this 7,000-plus-yard course presents a significant challenge to event the most experienced golfers (and even those who think they are).

Course has Temporary Greens right now
Course had temporary greens. They did a great job for having temporary greens. Even asked if I got done with the course if I wanted to play some more holes.
Favorite course
One of my favorite courses. Challenging but not too difficult.
Hold off
Wait until August Sep, the whole course is under construction.
Under construction
It’s so very beautiful. Lots of wildlife, peaceful and good pace. Homes are gorgeous but! The whole course in under construction. Minimal signs and it’s very confusing. Staff are very friendly carts Are sanitized and good. Even use ports to keep stuff charged. Greens are temporary. I’ll be back next year.
Best course in San Antonio. Great Value
Even with 14 holes open for right now and temporary greens, it will still test your skill level. For what the course is offering, during this time of rebuilding their greens, It’s a great way of working on all aspects of your game, rather than just a driving range. I’ve been golfing here for 6 years, played many courses in the San Antonio area, Canyon Springs GC is up there at the top. There are NO holes that parallel each other.
Greens Under Renovation
We got to play a great course for super cheap, because they are working on all the greens, and the par 3s were closed.
Don’t go yet
Totally understand that the course is under repair, We should have waited until it is back to normal. Only finished 9 holes. There was a major backup after the nine. Normally a great course, just wait. Not worth it right now.
They are remaking the greens. It will be great in a few months when they are finished
“Hole in the Canyon”
The location is abysmal; in a canyon with apartments, houses, and barking dogs. Near the clubhouse are two beautiful Longhorns pent up like zoo animals. Narrow fairways and tall grass with nonexistent greens in the middle of the fairways. Met some old time regulars who were mean and hostile. Must be some kind of money pit, read the fine print before venturing to what I call the, “Hole in the Canyon”.
Beautiful
Really pretty course. Fairways were well manicured. Right course hitting it straight is a premium. Redoing the greens so there were temp greens, otherwise I’d given it 5 stars. I will play here again.
No greens
I have played Canyon Springs dozens of times & the course is usually in great shape. Unfortunately, they are re-doing all the greens & won’t be finished until August so recommend you wait to play until they are done. All par 3s are closed & the other 14 holes have temporary greens in the fairway whicj were just faireays with a flag stuck in the middle. So couldnt even try to putt.
Temporary Greens
When in purchases tee times , I wish was told that all greens were closed. Only 14 holes open and all par 3 were closed.
DECEPTIVE
Picked up the round very cheap which should have been the first red flag that something was wrong. Got to course went to clubhouse and checked in walked out got cart and loaded it with all my gear. When I check in with the starter NOW is when I find out all greens are temporary and you cannot play any of the par 3's. Had they been upfront with the price they quoted online and disclosed the conditions i would have been able to at least make a better decision. The fact that the clubhouse didnt mention anything and let me just go was disturbing also.
The course is under repair
The course is under repair and we could only play 14 holes and all greens are closed for repair . I was disappointed that you guys (Golfnow ) didn't have a notice visible (in bold letters)About this when i Made my reservation. Not a good thing! ...’its a beautiful course and would recommend once they finish repairing the greens.
Terrible
Every hole on the course is being redone. Instead of shutting down the course they put a big chalk circle in the middle of the fairway with a hole in the middle of it. Not worth $20
Temporary greens
Just reopened with temporary greens with pat 3’s closed. Other than known renovations, the course was in great shape. Enjoyed it!
Almost like real golf!
Well got the $20 special so I went for it! I had heard about the temp green thing but never experienced it first hand. I’m not a big fan only because you can’t putt on the temp greens as they’re all on fairway grass. If you’re just going out to work on tee shots, and your short game it’s perfect for you! But I think I’m gonna wait til the real greens are ready. That’s just me.
Being Rejected
I booked a 6:48pm Tee Time here for 3/24 on GolfNow. Granted, it seemed too good to be true, but nonetheless, I booked it thru GN for $4/person. On my way to our tee time, the General Manager called me saying "We cannot honor your booking, and it is MY responsibility to remedy the booking with GolfNow." Never in my life have I been told that I was responsible for correcting a mistake that a golf course allowed. Was told "You can play for $29/person." Took my business 15 minutes south to The Quarry and played for $22. Much better course, and much kinder people.
