About
Canyon Springs Golf Club is a true Hill Country course. You need to stay on the fairways or bring plenty of balls. Using an old farm to build on this choice piece of Texas real estate, this land has been artfully transformed into what many golfers will refer to as among the very best of what Texas has to offer. With five sets of tee boxes on each hole, demanding greens, natural Hill Country surroundings and magnificent limestone waterfalls on two holes, this 7,000-plus-yard course presents a significant challenge to event the most experienced golfers (and even those who think they are).

Golfer Reviews
DECEPTIVE
Picked up the round very cheap which should have been the first red flag that something was wrong. Got to course went to clubhouse and checked in walked out got cart and loaded it with all my gear. When I check in with the starter NOW is when I find out all greens are temporary and you cannot play any of the par 3's. Had they been upfront with the price they quoted online and disclosed the conditions i would have been able to at least make a better decision. The fact that the clubhouse didnt mention anything and let me just go was disturbing also.
The course is under repair
The course is under repair and we could only play 14 holes and all greens are closed for repair . I was disappointed that you guys (Golfnow ) didn't have a notice visible (in bold letters)About this when i Made my reservation. Not a good thing! ...’its a beautiful course and would recommend once they finish repairing the greens.
Terrible
Every hole on the course is being redone. Instead of shutting down the course they put a big chalk circle in the middle of the fairway with a hole in the middle of it. Not worth $20
Temporary greens
Just reopened with temporary greens with pat 3’s closed. Other than known renovations, the course was in great shape. Enjoyed it!
Almost like real golf!
Well got the $20 special so I went for it! I had heard about the temp green thing but never experienced it first hand. I’m not a big fan only because you can’t putt on the temp greens as they’re all on fairway grass. If you’re just going out to work on tee shots, and your short game it’s perfect for you! But I think I’m gonna wait til the real greens are ready. That’s just me.
Being Rejected
I booked a 6:48pm Tee Time here for 3/24 on GolfNow. Granted, it seemed too good to be true, but nonetheless, I booked it thru GN for $4/person. On my way to our tee time, the General Manager called me saying "We cannot honor your booking, and it is MY responsibility to remedy the booking with GolfNow." Never in my life have I been told that I was responsible for correcting a mistake that a golf course allowed. Was told "You can play for $29/person." Took my business 15 minutes south to The Quarry and played for $22. Much better course, and much kinder people.
Fun round
Range closed due to weather- but course in good shape and all the staff super helpful:)
Excellent course but slowww.
Sunday was the most packed I've ever seen this course. It would be nice to have one or two of the staff, Marshall out on the course and enforce an approx. 15 min/hole time limit or a double bogey limit. It was a hackers parade all day long. I literally watched one guy ahead of me take 10 strokes on one hole, effectively 1 stroke every 40 yards on a par 4. After 3.5 hours and 14 holes complete of slow motion golf, I couldn't bare to sit and wait for 2 more groups to tee off on 15. So I just left. I will play the course again but I will find a better Sunday spot.
Slow but a nice layout
Pace was slow, course was in winter condition but not awful. Greens were good with the exception of maybe 2 , could be a very nice course in the summer months.
Always nice
Canyon Springs is always one of the better courses in the city. Conditioning is always 4-5 stars and today was no different. Greens aren’t lightening fast, but are more than adequate given the slopes. Fairways are looking good and the dormant rough hasn’t started turning just yet. Just a beauty of a hill country course on a gorgeous day. I walked the course. It’s walkable, but only for the truly dedicated. A few walks from hole to hole are, well, LONG! 9-10 and 14-15 are hikes, be prepared. I’d suggest a cart the first time playing, for certain. The course got a little crowded toward the back nine. It’s normal to run up on a 4some or two here playing a little slow even as a walker. Still played in exactly 4 hours so 12:40-4:40. 10 is one of the best tee shots in the hill country. I’d suggest adding this course to any trip. If you live in the city and haven’t played it, you should. It’s good!
Not a bad course, I think we were in the off season. Could use some hole markers and direction from the 18th to club house, nothing there.
Just a good course
Everything you need for a good all around day of golf. A good check of your control and screw ups. Fun course.
Great outing!
First time playing this course and it was a tremendous experience. The course is very challenging, but fun to play! The fairways are quite narrow and it is a must that you find the fairways! The staff, Chris, was excellent and guided me along in a very professional manner. Look forward to playing again!
Holiday Golf
We teed off at least 45 minutes after our scheduled tee time, unable to complete our round. All of the staff were great. Course conditions were ok, normal Texas hill country Winter conditions. I will try and play again when in San Antonio area.
San Antonio great value golf
Although we played in the dormant season for the fairway grass, we had a great experience with the course. So many great golf values in the San Antonio area and Canyon Springs is one of them. A great course for the price!
