About
Canyon Springs Golf Club is a true Hill Country course. You need to stay on the fairways or bring plenty of balls. Using an old farm to build on this choice piece of Texas real estate, this land has been artfully transformed into what many golfers will refer to as among the very best of what Texas has to offer. With five sets of tee boxes on each hole, demanding greens, natural Hill Country surroundings and magnificent limestone waterfalls on two holes, this 7,000-plus-yard course presents a significant challenge to event the most experienced golfers (and even those who think they are).

Beautiful course! Beautiful day :-) my third time out there using GolfNow the price is incredible ...if you’re available when they are! Rolling hills and challenging and fun course. The 18th hole ends with that beautiful waterfall from the springs. I like to end my round sitting in the wooded area reflecting and enjoying it,.. absolutely beautiful. I am a relatively new player but I’ve been privileged to play a number of incredibly beautiful courses already. This is up there, definitely Texas Hill country. First and last thing you see as you’re coming in leaving the course are Longhorn steer to remind you exactly where you’re at... and plenty of driveinf through Mesquite and native oak trees, lots of driving through Texas wooded areas. There is a lot of high buffalo grass very easy to lose your ball if you don’t stay on the fairway.
Great Surprise
We preferred Canyon Springs to TPC. We particularly enjoyed meeting Mary who treated us with real southern charm. When our travels bring us back to San Antonio we will definitely add Canyon Spring to our schedule.
GREAT DAY
BEAUTIFUL COURSE, WELL KEPT, GREAT BUT CHALLENGING GREENS, GOOD PACE OF PLAY. 5 STAR DAY MY BEST ROUND EVER 97. GOOD SERVICE CLUB DROP TO PARKING EXIT. STAFF INTERESTED IN EVERYONE GOOD DAY OF GOLF. I WILL RETURN. DONT GET CLOSE TO THE BULLS 6 FEET FROM THE FENCE PLEASE. TWO LONG HORNS RIGHGT AS I LEFT THE COURSE ON THE WAY IN ALSO.
Good course
The course is in good shape, greens were a little sandy but not unputtable. There were only two issues they need to work on:
1. Pace of play. It was a 5 hour round on a Wednesday. No marshal anywhere on the course. Brutal.
2. The course is not very well marked for yardage. If you don't have a GPS or range finder you will struggle with distances. Fixing problem #2 might help problem #1.
Great condition- slow play
Course was in great condition, greens were well kept, although on a couple it looks like they were painted turquoise, but not bumpy at all. Pace of play was very slow, but it was a Friday after all.
Good test, hill country views and lots of undulations
excellent conditions for hill country golf in late summer. A couple greens were thin but rolled nicely. Lots of slopes and greens are difficult. Pace of play (5hrs.)
was only negative. Course had a tournament which created the slow play.
Look forward to next time
Awesome course
We had a fantastic time playing Canyon Springs in San Antonio. I highly recommend the course especially to out of towners.
Hot
If your willing to suffer the heat a hot deal of 12 dollars was great. You do have to pay for range balls bring the cost up 4 bucks for a bucket of balls. I pretty much had the course to myself hit multiple balls/putts and still was able to play 9 holes (that was enough) in a little over 2 hours. The greens were in great shape for summer San Antonio. Course is playing nice.
Muy Bueno
A very good course for good to intermediate players. Not good for hackers, slicers and pull yankers. If you like to get rid of balls, this is the place for you. Keep it in play, even short, and you will enjoy this course. Well maintained and great layout. Enjoyed the outing.
What a Gem!
Played Canyon Springs for the first time ever in San Antonio's mid-August heat (not one of my smartest moves), but could not believe what great shape the entire course including the fairways and greens were in. This course is daunting from the Tee boxes but tends to open up in the fairways. Don't get fooled by the short distances on the first 3 holes, it's a trick to get you to play a set of boxes that are a little too hard for most golfers! We play all over central/south Texas and this is one of my immediate favorites, especially for the fantastic shape it's in. I'll be back!
Nice course
Course was nice, I didn't get my sleeve of balls as GolfNow reservation claimed I would. Starter was kind of a curmudgeon but marchals were very pleasant. It was an enjoyable round. No fruit on the course at the turn and putting green was under construction. I would play it again.
Great Golf in San Antonio area!
I played Canyon Vista for the first time in 5+ years. Excellent value, great condition and a fair tough test of golf from the back tees! I won't hesitate to check it out again soon!
great course, much fun
had a great time, tee off about noon, pace of play was really good
Very nice for the price!!!
Course was probably more challenging than what I should have been playing. The course is beautiful and it's the end of July! The price was fantastic for how nice the course is which is great because that allows me the chance to leave the mediocre courses once in a while. Ready to go again.
