Canyon Springs Golf Club is a true Hill Country course. You need to stay on the fairways or bring plenty of balls. Using an old farm to build on this choice piece of Texas real estate, this land has been artfully transformed into what many golfers will refer to as among the very best of what Texas has to offer. With five sets of tee boxes on each hole, demanding greens, natural Hill Country surroundings and magnificent limestone waterfalls on two holes, this 7,000-plus-yard course presents a significant challenge to event the most experienced golfers (and even those who think they are).

I do!

Beautiful and challenging course! Pace of play was awfully slow all day.

Just off the 18th hole, there was an afternoon wedding and we finished the round while a new couple promised their vows. Do I want to play here again ... I do!

Great Course

My wife and I really enjoyed this course, we both played very well for a course we had never played before. Greens run fast and true, open fairways, rough is kept low. The clubhouse is beautiful, staff very friendly, tee boxes were in pretty good shape. I would say our only disappointment was my wife asked the names of the longhorn steer by the clubhouse and the staff didn't know. If we're ever in San Antonio again I would definitely play here again.

Hilly, Challenging Course

First time on course. Lots of rough and OBs. Need course knowledge to play well. Windy conditions made play more difficult. Course in average condition.

One of my San Antonio favorites

Canyon Springs remains a go-to course for your San Antonio options. Fairways and greens in great shape. Staff always friendly. Pace was a little slower......probably due to nice weather bringing more golfers out. Definitely recommend playing the course.

Customer golf

Perfect day at a wonderful golf course to take one of our best customers. Everyone very friendly & helpful from start to finish.

Play was slow for what ever reason. The ranger kept telling us that he will get it moving faster, but never seemed to help much. By the way, the ranger should have a flag on his cart. We about hit him 2 times.

North San Antonio views

Drive to Northern San Antonio for a great golf experience. Canyon Springs was a very nice course. The clubhouse and amenities are top notch looking at the bottom of the hill, but drive up to the top of the cliff for a nice golf experience. The driving range sits on top of the cliff with the intimidating number 10 tees off to the left side of the range. The course had a very nice range of holes, with the back nine finishing up nicer than the front. Fairways were in great shape and have started growing in very nicely. Felt almost carpet like. Very nice. Greens had some spots in them and were recently fertilized, so with a little rain they should come in nicely within the next few weeks. Not overly difficult of a course if you hit the ball fairly straight. There's more ample room off the tee than many posts would tend to lead you. Distance is not a premium here if the winds are not up. Tee off with less than a driver and play inside the 150 stake all day, and you should be just fine. Greens were medium speed the day I played. But with some undulation and a little faster speed they could get treacherous. They seem to get a lot of play so they are beat up more than some I've seen around the area, but do not hinder any play. Bunkers were in great shape throughout the course. The drives from hole to hole are very scenic with cacti off to the side and nice flora. I'd reccommend playing here if in the area and can find a tee time.

Bad day...

Bad day all around...some was no fault of the course. Got paired with a 30+ handicap and a first timer, on a Saturday with a 7:42am tee time. Even as bad as they were we were stuck behind 2 4somes that were even painfully slower that we were. We were waiting ALL DAY, literally every hole. After about 4 holes I said heck...I'll have a Bloody Mary. Cart girl didn't have liquor yet and her beer was still warm....great. Didn't see her again until about 14...by then I was over the whole day. There were cigars littered all over the tee boxes all day. Course was beautiful in some places and really torn up in others. There were tents set up all over the place so it appeared they had recently had a tournament and still hadn't gotten a chance to clean up the place yet. Also, I got the one cart I could find without a GPS on it.

Fun course

Got a great deal through GolfNow, so I decided to play.

got an early tee time but noticed there were a few groups on the first tee so I asked the pro shop attendant if I could tee off the back 9 & said he said sure. So I was really happy about that considering I was the first one off. Got my round going off 10 which I may say is one of my fav holes there which requires an elevated tee shot over a barranca, as I approached my approach shot noticed a herd of deer strolling Through the fairway, if you love nature this is the place to play. After 5 holes i noticed an elder man walking with a push cart, I thought he was playing illegally but turned out he was a member who lives by the Course, so if you see this man he's good to go.

Noticed the Course & greens had some minor patches but overall playable. Had a nice rhythm going considering I didn't warm-up, as the rain started to fall I played my last hole at 3, a 190 par 3. Which I almost holed out for a hole in one. Considering that was the highlight of the day I left the Course on a good note. Def a fun course but know the fairaway do slope & is built around a residential suburb.

Def would recommend to anyone looking for a challenge & a beautiful scenery

Slooowww

Great course! Always in amazing shape, no matter the time of year. The only issue was 5 hour 15 minute round...pace was awful and no Marshall entire round to improve pace.

Great service, quick greens

The greens and fairways play hard and fast, probably do to the time of year. Some of the tee boxes were beat up and a few of the fairway bunkers resembled concrete. The service and staff friendliness were very welcoming and accommodating. Overall a very good experience.

Great course for a great price !

I always look for a hot deal on this course . Challenging yet fun to play . They had cart path only when we started but notified us after the first hole that it changed to 90 degrees . Marshalls patroled the course to make sure pace of play was enforced. This is a well run golf course . I will continue to book hot deals through Golf Now on this course and others !!

Great Track. Needs some care on the greens.

Overall the course layout was new and exciting. We enjoyed the views and the scenery changes. To start, the practice area was sub-par. The driving range was small and too many divots. The putting green was a chipping green. No holes, just flags on a bumpy green. You cannot chip on it too! No a great way to start a round.

The tee boxes and fairways were over seeded. The ground was soft and easy to take a divot. The bunkers had little to no sand. Greens were overseeded, but extremely soft. There were divots and markings everywhere on the green. It was very tough to hit a putt without going over a bump or divot.

The pace of play was horrible. No marshall, except for the first tee. We waited on every hole. Took us 5 hours to finish. I would recommend the course for its uniqueness, but I would first make sure the greens are smooth.

Awesome Course

I had a blast playing this course. As a visiting non-member the course made me feel like a member and had the incredible TX Welcome. Their Range was very nice and they had plenty of hitting stations. tutting green was nice setup, although no chipping was allowed. Plenary of space to have multiple players warming up. One of the nice things is they hoffer Military Discounts, so if you are military call or email the course, or of course check GolfNow for a HOT Deal.

Course layout was challenging and has few blind shots, but the on course GPS helped to show me the layup and layout areas. The best part was that pace of play was excellent even though the course was stacked off the tee box. We never had anyone that we had to wait on or pushing our group from behind. My buddy and I were paired with 2 ladies and we didn't have any issues with our pace.

If and when I come back this is on the list to replay again...
