Canyon Springs Golf Club
About
Canyon Springs Golf Club is a true Hill Country course. You need to stay on the fairways or bring plenty of balls. Using an old farm to build on this choice piece of Texas real estate, this land has been artfully transformed into what many golfers will refer to as among the very best of what Texas has to offer. With five sets of tee boxes on each hole, demanding greens, natural Hill Country surroundings and magnificent limestone waterfalls on two holes, this 7,000-plus-yard course presents a significant challenge to event the most experienced golfers (and even those who think they are).

Great Golf in San Antonio area!
I played Canyon Vista for the first time in 5+ years. Excellent value, great condition and a fair tough test of golf from the back tees! I won't hesitate to check it out again soon!
great course, much fun
had a great time, tee off about noon, pace of play was really good
Very nice for the price!!!
Course was probably more challenging than what I should have been playing. The course is beautiful and it's the end of July! The price was fantastic for how nice the course is which is great because that allows me the chance to leave the mediocre courses once in a while. Ready to go again.
Terrific Value
Played first thing in the morning. Driving range was under construction, but temporary was fine. Course was in very good shape. Fairways were excellent. Lots of blind tee shots. GPS phone app very handy. The hadn't set up tee box markers after hole 6. Signs to next hole would be helpful too. Played round in 2 hours 45 minutes. That was wonderful. Nice setup. Would like to play again when back in town.
This is a great course hands down! Take advantage with golfnow.com
COST VS AN AVERAGE COURSE
I'M IN SAN ANTONIO VISITING FAMILY/VACATION. MY PLAN WAS TO PLAY THE 5 TOP REVIEWED COURSES IN THE S.A. AREA. I PLAYED LA CANTERA PLAMER COURSE A DAY BEFORE PLAYING CANYON SPRINGS GC. ONE OF THE PEOPLE I PLAYED WITH ADVISE ME NOT TO PLAY CANYON SPRINGS AND GO TO THE HILL COUNTRY GC. THEY WERE RIGHT, FOR THE PRICE CANYON SPRINGS IS WAY BELOW PAR AND WILL NOT PLAY THERE AGAIN FOR 79.95. I BRIGHT STAR WAS A STAFF MEMBER THAT IS A MILITARY VET LIKE ME AND HE WAS HELP WITH OTHER COURSES LIKE VAALER CREEK CG.
Hidden Gem in Suburbia!
Great value when you can catch a hot deal on the Golf Now app. Regular price is reasonable as well. I imagine weekends are busier. We always play during the week with no problems for pace of play. Marshall is always good to place singles together to avoid a parade coming through your golf party. Course can seem easy then a well placed bunker can wreck a hole for me anyway. It's challenging and rewarding to a bogey golfer. I enjoy the short to mid-iron par 3's. Good mixture of distances. I hate a course that every Par 3 is the same distance. Tee boxes are well marked. One negative is that several bunkers are more like gravel pits.
Good way to spend a day
The greens were in fantastic shape. Only downside was the practice areas are being refurbished. Great course.
I do!
Beautiful and challenging course! Pace of play was awfully slow all day.
Just off the 18th hole, there was an afternoon wedding and we finished the round while a new couple promised their vows. Do I want to play here again ... I do!
Great Course
My wife and I really enjoyed this course, we both played very well for a course we had never played before. Greens run fast and true, open fairways, rough is kept low. The clubhouse is beautiful, staff very friendly, tee boxes were in pretty good shape. I would say our only disappointment was my wife asked the names of the longhorn steer by the clubhouse and the staff didn't know. If we're ever in San Antonio again I would definitely play here again.
Hilly, Challenging Course
First time on course. Lots of rough and OBs. Need course knowledge to play well. Windy conditions made play more difficult. Course in average condition.
One of my San Antonio favorites
Canyon Springs remains a go-to course for your San Antonio options. Fairways and greens in great shape. Staff always friendly. Pace was a little slower......probably due to nice weather bringing more golfers out. Definitely recommend playing the course.
Great course condition
Fairways were excellent. Pace of play very slow. Took 5 hours 15 minutes for 18 holes.
Well run course great staff beautiful place to play
They are very welcoming the staff was very professional and the course is 1st rate.
Customer golf
Perfect day at a wonderful golf course to take one of our best customers. Everyone very friendly & helpful from start to finish.
Play was slow for what ever reason. The ranger kept telling us that he will get it moving faster, but never seemed to help much. By the way, the ranger should have a flag on his cart. We about hit him 2 times.
North San Antonio views
Drive to Northern San Antonio for a great golf experience. Canyon Springs was a very nice course. The clubhouse and amenities are top notch looking at the bottom of the hill, but drive up to the top of the cliff for a nice golf experience. The driving range sits on top of the cliff with the intimidating number 10 tees off to the left side of the range. The course had a very nice range of holes, with the back nine finishing up nicer than the front. Fairways were in great shape and have started growing in very nicely. Felt almost carpet like. Very nice. Greens had some spots in them and were recently fertilized, so with a little rain they should come in nicely within the next few weeks. Not overly difficult of a course if you hit the ball fairly straight. There's more ample room off the tee than many posts would tend to lead you. Distance is not a premium here if the winds are not up. Tee off with less than a driver and play inside the 150 stake all day, and you should be just fine. Greens were medium speed the day I played. But with some undulation and a little faster speed they could get treacherous. They seem to get a lot of play so they are beat up more than some I've seen around the area, but do not hinder any play. Bunkers were in great shape throughout the course. The drives from hole to hole are very scenic with cacti off to the side and nice flora. I'd reccommend playing here if in the area and can find a tee time.
Bad day...
Bad day all around...some was no fault of the course. Got paired with a 30+ handicap and a first timer, on a Saturday with a 7:42am tee time. Even as bad as they were we were stuck behind 2 4somes that were even painfully slower that we were. We were waiting ALL DAY, literally every hole. After about 4 holes I said heck...I'll have a Bloody Mary. Cart girl didn't have liquor yet and her beer was still warm....great. Didn't see her again until about 14...by then I was over the whole day. There were cigars littered all over the tee boxes all day. Course was beautiful in some places and really torn up in others. There were tents set up all over the place so it appeared they had recently had a tournament and still hadn't gotten a chance to clean up the place yet. Also, I got the one cart I could find without a GPS on it.
