Good course, value for money
Have played here for a few years. Always a very affordable round. For a public course it's always in good condition and well drained. Interesting layout with a variety of long and short holes. Pace of play was quite slow as weather nice so busy. But not unexpected.
Lovely well kept course
Well kept course with fairways bunkers and greens all in good condition . Great mix of par 3,4,5 and one spectacular par 3 across a valley . Good for a mid to high handicap golfer making pars a real thing to celebrate.
Best place to start your first 18 hole
Very competitive tee fee compared to other 18 holes. Nice place to start your golf journey, the 9 hole course is also big enough to practice your skills, as well as the automatic golf machine in the range! I think it’s the only place in south London equipped there
Greens looking good! But pace of play awful
Been playing here for about 15 years.
They’re doing well up there with the Greens, I thought they felt a bit spongey under foot, but they definitely rolled. Couple millimetres more and they would be very quick!
Disappointed in the staff and some of the golfers yesterday combined. 4 balls not letting 2 balls through and it backed right up after about 6 holes. We called the clubhouse to send someone out, a man named Russell answered the phone and said he would send someone out to sort it, but no one arrived and Russell was quite reluctant to help, sounded like he just wanted to get off the phone.
If you sort out the pace of play, trim the greens a bit more and a bit of watering in the mornings ,don’t be scared of the sun, these greens could really impress.
A great course for people starting out in golf
I really enjoyed playing 18 holes at the Oaks. As a person new to golf I felt that the course layout was more forgiving than some of the other courses I have played but also challenging.
Afternoon Tee
A fair course. Took my son as he is a beginner. Forgiving for the odd wayward shot!!
Seemed to have some non paying guests that gave to be ejected
Special thanks to claire
Very nice course and a special thanks to Claire who not only accommodated our request, but was exceptionally friendly and helpful
Thank you Claire from two very grateful individuals
April 2025
Good:
- Nice and quiet course, even on a bank holiday Monday
- Staff in the shop were super friendly and helpful
- Interesting course layout and no two holes felt the same
Bad:
- Had an 8:12 tee time and the bar wasn't open for food or drinks until after we started
- Driving range didn't open until 9am so we couldn't warm up
- Course could use some better signage as it isn't clear where to go at times
- Greens were probably the worst I've ever played; terrible surface (other courses played earlier in the year were much better), the pin right by the edge on every hole which made pitching and putting a nightmare
- Stroke index seemingly arbitrary and didn't align with the difficulty of the holes at all
Wouldn't rush back here, plenty of better courses around London for the same/lower price
Affordable
A very affordable golf course for the senior and the course condition is very good.
Golf day
The course was in a decent condition, although the greens were in a terrible condition due to the coring that has taken place. . I understand this needs to be carried out but this should be reflected in the price of the round
Very slow pace of play and greens in terrible state
All the greens had been aerated recently and were almost unplayable, yet I was still charged £33 for a round.
The course was rammed and, the pace of play was ridiculously slow.
Terrible Greens
Great driving range and really nice friendly staff, but sorry guys the course is not in good condition, fairways were dry with rock hard bare patches in many places. The greens were in terrible condition full of holes, sand and mud, pretty much unplayable.
Also a lot of very slow play with people who are possibly new to golf, nothing wrong with that as long as they recognise etiquette and understand the basic rules
