Slow play
Played this course this morning it’s in better condition than last year greens improved a lot but still not good (were unplayable last year ) the 3 who were playing in the group but one in front were taking so long on each hole it was painful
Slow play
Course is in well better condition than it was last year some greens need abit more work doing , need to sort out tee off times because we was averaging 17 minutes a hole behind very slow players
Excellently kept, some layout issues
Course is in excellent condition considering the circumstances at the moment. Greens run a little slow but are improving. Only issue we had was due to the closeness of the layout we constantly had other rounds playing off our fairways.
Slightly disappointed
Fairways were good, most of the green in decent condition staff seemed friendly.
However, every singly bunker was rock hard and full of weeds. Numerous dog walked wandering across the fairway halting play. Course layout was complicated and not well sign posted.
Greens/Bunkers and Tees are in awful condition - dont waste your money here
We turned to our tee time to be greeted by a little hut - which is fine, and they told us where to go for 1st hole. By the 4th hole I was tempted to get back in the car and leave - but the weather was v nice so we just decided to carry on regardless.
We got lost 3 times during the round as there is no signage at all for the next tee - its in such a lovely setting but is managed abysmally
The 1st, 3rd and 4th tees are just mounds of dirt - and are on temps with no tee information on the distances of the holes from those areas.
The greens are so v poor for a course supposedly private - all blotchy and bare. Good luck making any putts here.
The Bunkers all have moss in them along with bricks/old half of golf balls - along with some v dark sand mixed with dirt. So v grim.
Save your money and play another course because this is a shocker
beautiful views
Great course excellent value for money views were beautiful great condition can see work in progress great course what more do you want for £16 odd.
Good value for money
I’ve played a lot of the ‘sub-£20 round’ courses in the north west and I think this is one of the best. Really interesting course, great views, friendly staff. Greens are a bit ropey but a great round all the same.
Best game in a while
The course was lovely and played really well for a mix of handicaps. Challenging but not too hard.
Will be great when clubhouse opens again
Only feedback is for a new player to the course was hard to figure out where to go for first few holes so maybe a course map on scorecard or better signs
No fuss great value £17.50
Play here many times great Course very friendly very busy good to see can’t beat the views and the price of 18 holes great place to start your golf
Post covid
Course was after covid. Lots of work needed to get course back to its beautiful best Today it was poor and very dry. Its a great course when it's in good condition some very challenging holes
What has happened
Last year myself and all my fellow bogey boys jumped ship as menbers. The new owner as custodian of this once great course has absolutely destroyed it! Such a great layout with some really good golf holes 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th, 18th all brilliant. Unfortunately the owner hasn’t a clue and has seen it as an opportunity to make money. Opening a nursery in the middle of a golf course, opening up the cowshed love shack and charging over the odds for mediocre food! Ive never seen greens so bad, they were honestly like burnt out cricket pitches on the final day of a test. Says alot when the fairways are better than the greens! I was a member a year and seen a greenkeeper 3 times, we played 1 or 2 games a week! Needless to say we have all left to play at properly managed courses! Shame the Pro Graeme left after 20 odd years as the course has been irreparably damaged and fell way below the standards he had come to know under previous ownership!
Its getting there.....
Played Frodsham twice a month for years but then left it due to course conditons. Lots of building work happening. Greens, good enough, true roll. Fairways in excellent condition. Lovely layout. If the work carries on it will be back to its best. Enjoyed it.
Sunny Day
Enjoyed the course today good speed of play fairways immaculate and greens good
Potential
We played today in the beautiful sunshine but the course is in bad condition. There is a lot of work being done but the greens and surrounding areas are really poor. I have played way better municipal courses. Sad as it’s set beautifully and in a lovely area
