Friendly staff and stunning views.
A great course for all levels. Amazing views and beautiful scenery. Buzzards and kestrels fly over head. Some of the last 9 holes are more challenging, and there's some elevation over the hill as you play. A really good training session.
Children.
When we arrived at 830am there was nobody there so we didn't have a score card, toilet facilities or even the ability to buy any water. I could understand this if it was a really early tee time but it was 830. They have now sold the club house to a day nursery. I go to play golf to relax and get away for a few hours, I couldn't relax whilst there were children playing and screaming, the people looking after them were equally as noisy. All these factors impacted my enjoyment of my first post lockdown round of golf. I probably won't return and will not be putting it forward as one of society days out as it has been for the last few years. Very disappointed
Enjoyable day out
Always enjoy playing frodsham views always amaze me friendly place cater for all golfers my golf is below par not professional l!! Would recommend anybody to play here it’s a great place to start and enjoy your golf
Greens ruin potential gem
State of the greens ruin a potential gem of a golf course as fairways and views were fantastic. Bunkers were unplayable and greens were bobbly but for £18.50pp we played the full 18
Reasonable Course
Just back after lockdown, so busy and slow. Course okay, greens not consistent. No pro shop or clubhouse, just a snack hut in the car park. Suited our needs and would play again as a back up and unable to get on elsewhere.
Such a shsme
What a huge disappointment! Greens are an absolute discgrace. It's clear there is no effort or attention being put into the maintenance of the course. Greens are awful and completely un readable. Club house has been abandoned and replaced by a metal cabin. It's also obvious that many groups had played without paying as there were at least 4 groups out before us when we were supposed to be the 2nd 4 ball of the day. Such a shame because the course layout is nice and you can see with some attention this could be a nice course. The days play was summed up when we couldn't figure out where the green was on the 10th hole only to discover the flag has been replaced by a stick with some paper attached!
Frodsham
Been a while but looked forward to a familiar course and pleased to see how much the greens have improved and some new changes to course including tee placements and fairways. Has to be said having played other courses recently and been packed in with little staggering of tee times, really enjoyed playing a game that was enjoyable from the 1st to the 18th due to considered tee times. Look forward to playing the course again mid week
Great day
Great day at frodsham we had hail then snow but didn’t
Spoil our game will return soon
What went wrong!!
Have played this course a lot in the past and was so disappointed how much it has deteriorated, clubhouse sold along with putting green, paths between tees treacherous, greens shocking. Such a shame as the layout and views are great but even though the price to play is cheap it’s still not a good experience. Hopefully with some time and money spent on it after lockdown it can get back to being a decent track
Lovely course with great potential
Lovely course but needs attention.the greens are not the best.the course isn't marked out very good.wasnt sure where the next hole was at times.couldnt hire a buggy after 1pm as the watchman finishes at 5pm.not ideal when playing with people who struggle with age etc.as its a very hilly course.i could see they have started work on the course an will go back definitely as it really has the potential to be a brilliant golf course.we got to hole 8 then it started to halestone an snow so had to finish after hole 10.
Work in progress
Course is obviously under serious development and will take time to mature
Pro's..... Fairways are in great condition, changes made to green side banks, paths under development in areas, new tee boxes being built
Cons...... Greens aren't great, mossy and slow...... Tee boxes need levelling, bunkers are bare, we played them as gur for obvious reasons,
If you play this course it is blatantly obvious to see that over the next 12 months with continuing customers paying to play, the revenue will be used to make the course a better challenge and improve the condition of it
It's the same price as a muni to play a round, and it's clear to see the changes being made
Frodsham
Around greens and greens themselves need more work. Not sure if it was to early to play this course after the.lockdown. but greens uneven and fringes rough and bumpy
Much improved!
It was lovely to stand on the tees and see the definition of the fairways - they really stood out! The tees were good, the fairways really good, and the greens very reasonable (and with grass - you can see the work that is going into them). It will be good when the courses are allowed to put rakes back in the bunkers, after “Covid” restrictions are lifted. For £17.50 a round, it is great value for money... sure, there is still landscaping and improvement work going on but it doesn’t really come into play, and I don’t believe some of the adverse comments some people are posting.
Improving conditions
Great layout. Challenging holes. At the moment there's reconstruction work being carried out. Long term benefits affecting the short term play. Some ropey conditions without GUR markings. Bunkers last saw a rake the same time Kojak saw a comb! Greens hit and miss but still an enjoyable round. Will definitely play there again once all the reconstruction has been completed.
Greens poor condition
Enjoyed the course some challenging holes but the greens are in poor condition so a bit disappointing thought considering the lockdown maybe the course could of addressed the situation
Work in progress
It looks like this course is being redeveloped, with several areas of bare earth having been reseeded. The greens are mostly in poor condition and it will take quite a lot of work to bring them up to scratch. Having said all that, the sweeping and undulating nature of this course makes it an interesting and challenging place to play golf, and some of the views of the landscape below are excellent. The elevation of the course and its situation on sandstone escarpment means that it is well drained. Overall, a work inprogress but could be good.
