1st timer
Perfect weather day for time of Yr, no breeze and sunny.
Course appeared in very good condition but greens a little bumpy to be expected at this time of Yr.
Really enjoyed it and will be back in the summer!
What a great golf course, quite windy when I played but thoroughly enjoyed it. Some really nice holes and all for £15. Glad I teed off early though as there were 4 groups of 4 waiting to go on as I walked off the 18th
Hidden Gem
Great course with amazing greens. Great clubhouse with excellent food and drink. Only misses a Pro Shop.
Cant fault this place
Played 22/08 and conditions where excellent. Fairways, greens and tees all in great condition. The rough punished bad shots with some scary gause bushes protecting any wayward shots. Some fabulous views up towards the south Lakes on the front 9 and seaward views coming back home. Isle of Man was visible as we got a cracking day for it. We only saw 2 other groups out so it was like a private course.
Staff even stayed on to cook us a 3 meal sunday dinner for £12!! I cant fault the place I'd definitely play here again. Brilliant
Traditional links
This is a traditional links course. Pot bunkers make it a good challenge for players of all levels. Don't expect a manicured USGA type course this is old links at its best. The wind adds to the challenge with great views Thoroughly recomnended
It really is a gem
If you love Links golf and live within 2 hours of Barrow In Furness then you simply have to play here. We had a wonderful round in windy but dry conditions and we all loved this track. It offers something for every level of golfer and I absolutely guarantee that when you walk off the 18th you will already want to play here again. There is stretch of holes at the start of the back nine all along the sea front and (today) all into the wind that must rival anything in the UK. The greens were not lightning-quick but very true and we all putted well.
Nice course friendly team
Played as a single player and found it easy to get through other players, nice relaxed round
Course is fantastic
The course is absolutely superb. Let down by members though. Held up by a 6 ball the last 6 holes who refused to let us through as they were in a competition.
Hidden Gem
We played Furness Golf Course today after several days of substantial rainfall and was pleasantly surprised at how well the course presented. The fairways were generally dry with only a few wet areas and the greens were amongst the best I've played in the UK at this time of year. The clubhouse was not open due to Covid but the staff were friendly and the green fee more than reasonable. We will definitely be back!
Very very wet
Unfortunately we had taken two days of heavy rain prior to playing and the low spots of the undulating fairways held puddles for approximately 4to 5 fairways. I don’t blame the course for this it was just unlucky timing. The course offered a steady challenge and would tax all abilities of golfers. Club staff were very helpful and very aware of our visitor status.
Excellent links course
Top notch links course with a good variety of holes, excellent greens and great views.
A demanding course but I would recommend it for all levels of golfers.
Gets better
