Haste Hill Golf Club

I played Haste Hill on the 2nd Dec 2020, first day after lockdown.

I have to say I thought it would be in better condition let's start on the tee's on the they were very bad, very sandy and bare hardly and grass at all.

Fairways apart from a few, were uncut grass very long and lots of muddy patches its as if they have not been touched for the month of lockdown.

Greens had been hollow tined, so they were not great and they were patchy on many greens.

Bunkers were surprisingly good with lots of sand.

But on the whole Haste Hill was not in good condition, and needs attention from the green keepers, who have probably been on furlough this last month.

I will go back in the spring to see if its got any better..

Good and well maintained course in spite of the horrible weather we have had recently.

We played here after it had rained for a few days and the greens were horrendously soggy. Balls were plugging in the greens so note the drainage on the greens is poor. Aside from that, the course had some great holes of varying difficulty. The only other issue we had was because of how many leaves were on the course we lost more balls from great shots which was frustrating.

I have been playing this course for a number of years and it just seems to get better and better. It's beautifully maintained. However, the restaurant was closed a number of years ago with the promise that a new operator would be found shortly, but, unfortunately, this has never materialized. Pre-Covid it meant that the social side of playing golf was taken away and was sorely missed.

It is a public course, it has challenging holes. Taking into account that it is a public the price was well within reason and expectation of that fact. Good mixture of distances on the whole.course.

It could be improved if the had signs directing it you between holes, for this I would recommend taking a score to use as a guide.

I received a very warm welcome despite not being able to enter the clubhouse due to Cover restrictions.

It was wet under foot in places on the course due to all the recent rain but I think, all things considered, the course was in good condition and the greens were great.

Have played here many times, but have never seen a groundsman on the course until yesterday , only problem was they was taking the clubhouse to bits because of Covid! Obviously because of time of year play was so slow as players all over couldn’t find their balls due to the amount of leaves on the course, have played many other courses recently and ground staff are present and making the course playable.. for the amount of money they take daily surly groundskeepers could make it more enjoyable.

Greens still various after scarification and top dressing. The fairways are long as the wetness has made the ground sodden so maybe the big machines canot operate.

Course played hard...and muddy

The course is a public course and it is well maintained. The fairways and greens are value for money for the rates charged to play.

Haste Hill GC is a great varied course. There is a nice balance of short an long holes. Some hoes are very challenging and there are no gimmie shots. The only shot without any penalty is the tee shot on the par5 tenth hole as it is so wide off the tee. Apart from that you need to plan your way around. A very enjoyable place to play.

I had a very enjoyable day. The course was in great condition despite previous wet weather.

Lovely course with some interesting holes, with 6th being a particular favourite as an elevated par 4. Only real Issue is the amount of leaves and the ease of losing balls even on a reasonable shot.

Difficult to give it a full review as we only played 12 of the 18 holes. Thankfully the 12th green is right by the car park so we called it a day to save a drenching.

The tee boxes were good, the fairways were heavy and the greens ok.
