Poor conditions
Course should be closed in winter , not playable .
Waterlogged everywhere from fairways to, greens .
It is better to close the course and let it recover.
No drainage on this course.
Should have been closed
The course is on clay and after the very wet conditions was in an atrocious condition. It was so wet that it was difficult to find a place to play the ball. It was also unsafe, both me and my playing partner slipped several times. This is a good course but should not be open in these conditions.
We were first out at 9am so pace of play was not an issue.
Surprised to find it open
After lots of rain the course was very boggy and there was standing water on some of the greens.
While it was good to be able to get out and play, most other local courses being closed, it can't be good for the quality of the course in the long term. It would be a shame if it did deteriorate since it is an interesting and varied course.
Boggy day!
This is a lovely course for 3 seasons each year, but winter is aweful. Drainage needs attention. On most fairways it was like walking through a bog. On arrival yesterday we were told - no trolleys, which was difficult for those too old to carry a bag. I'll be back in the spring.
A beautiful day on this course
Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to this course, indeed my first on a full course. Very soggy conditions but found the greens quite forgiving. A little more signage would help new visitors. 3 to 4, 12 to 13 and 14 to 15 are not very clear. Although our progress felt slow, we were delighted and surprised not to be chased along by better golfers. A friendly feel on the course and friendly help from groundsmen.
Mud mud glorious mud.
Very disappointed my first game here since August . We can't control the weather but it is possible to close the course when it is water logged. This course is being ruined by keeping it open at present. I have been playing here since 2006 and never seen it in worse condition due to the rain. The only good point is the greens have been spiked which at least keeps them playable. Hillingdon council have really let the place down by not having catering for over 2 years. It's a soleless place without a welcoming clubhouse.
Hast Hill Golf Course
Lovely but cold morning of golf in a well maintained course
Lovely course
Too wet today, sloppy in places and footprints left on some greens which are still recovering from autumn works.
Good test of golf and dries quickly so with some dry days will recover quickly.
Good Public Course
This is a good public course, some tricky holes. The course could do with some tidying up, namely the removal of the leaves which can sometimes make it difficult to find your ball and ultimately slow down play. But overall its a good round.
Haste Hill after second lockdown
I played Haste Hill on the 2nd Dec 2020, first day after lockdown.
I have to say I thought it would be in better condition let's start on the tee's on the they were very bad, very sandy and bare hardly and grass at all.
Fairways apart from a few, were uncut grass very long and lots of muddy patches its as if they have not been touched for the month of lockdown.
Greens had been hollow tined, so they were not great and they were patchy on many greens.
Bunkers were surprisingly good with lots of sand.
But on the whole Haste Hill was not in good condition, and needs attention from the green keepers, who have probably been on furlough this last month.
I will go back in the spring to see if its got any better..
