the course should come with a warning before you play- the condition was really poor. Greens were all extremely patchy and the fairways had very inconsistent cut length and certainly not typical fairway length. Photo attached - this was one of the better conditions unfortunately

A shame that the council can’t invest a little more in to this facility.

I love this course always have, but it needs work.

Very disappointing

Uncut fairways, very long rough and the worst greens I have seen in the last 6 months. More sand on the greens makes putting impossible. Paid for 18 played 9 avoided till they sort this out.

Really helpful staff, play was a bit slow but still very enjoyable.

Why does the car park close at 4 pm when you book a round of golf after 12pm? It takes 4 hours plus to play a round here.

Sadly the fairways are well below standard even in these conditions. Other courses have been able to keep things in reasonably good order

Great layout and varied holes

The course is designed to be played by handicaps also in fair condition for this time of year and well priced aswel

Haste Hill is a great course and has something for most golfers. However, at this time of the year with the rain and cold etc there is little or nothing that the grounds team can do. The best parts of the fairways resembled the rough and the poorer parts were just mud. Unfortunately the greens had also suffered with this, and whilst not muddy, they were very patchy, especially around the pins making green reading a struggle. A course for fairer weather probably.

Haste Hill is an pleasant well laid out track but the weather has caught up with it. The fairways were long and very muddy. This made the 450 yard par 4 2nd (difficult in good conditions) virtually impossible to reach as there was next to no run.

Nevertheless it was enjoyable and the staff were trying their hardest.

First 9 holes were just a bog... I would actually say its not playable and should be closed

Played here every now & then for the last 30 years. Great little course. Shame its owned by the council as it only needs abit of tlc to make it a great place.

Word of warning, if you play on the afternoon, park outside the carpark or they lock your car in.

Such a shame the course was in a bad way totally sodden all around even the fairways were soaked it was just unplayable really. I think the course should of been closed as it was unplayable

Appalled by the state of the course. Continually bogged down in the mud, balls not travelling and getting stuck in puddles.

Why oh why wasn't the course closed.

Played three holes and walked off.

Guess it was all about money. Disgraceful.

Course was in horrendous condition. So water logged it was near impossible to keep steady feet. Greens were atrocious and patchy. Much better in the summer.

A mature public course of two halves. Front nine, world class, winds up the hill and down. Back nine a lot easier with some short par 4s and very forgiving. If you negotiate the front nine you could score well. Course is usually in great condition but gets soggy in winter. Excellent value.
