Nice course the staff and members were friendly and helpful, will definitely play there again in the future.

Lovely course in good condition despite the recent dry weather, greens were particularly good.

Having booked our tee time the Pro from Hazel Groove phoned me within 10 minutes to let me know they were currently doing maintenance on the greens and said we could swap our tee time to a later date. I thought this was really nice. We did play and really enjoyed the course. Lots of variety of holes and the greens which were still to be done were excellent. Fairways are great and I felt it was a really fair course. We will definitely be going back! Thanks again the the Pro.

I was playing on my own and stuck behind a fourball for 12 holes and not once did they offer for me to play through. I know a single golfer has no standing on the course but I would’ve been out of there way within a few minutes whereas I was waiting 5 minutes every shot!

I ended up walking in after 12 holes

The course however is fantastic

Honestly I cannot fault anything apart from missing a crucial putt on the 18th!!!

Although we’ve had a dry spell the greens held well. They were good quality and pretty true. Tee boxes a little tired and patchy but the rest of the course was fantastic. Looking forward to a return visit

The greens were in perfect condition and very friendly staff. Would definitely play again. The women's two ball in front of us made us wait on every hole and wouldn't let us pass. We could've shaved an hour of our round if they had some etiquette.

A course which caters for all, challenges in all the right places, greens run wonderfully and smooth. Overall a lovely facility which I would go back to.

Excellent course. Quite challenging but well worth the effort. Great welcome in the pro shop. Greens in fantastic condition considering all the great weather we’ve had lately. I think we were unlucky as the pace of play was very slow, due to a Society in front of us. Put this course on your must visit list.

This was such a nice experience. Testing but at times forgiving. We’ll definitely be back. Great facilities and good food and drink which was very fairly priced.

Given the season, the course was in excellent condition; manicured fairways and aprons, well-kept greens and clear signage. Welcoming and helpful staff. High recommend a visit! 🥃

Played HGGC Wednesday 13th November having booked a 2 ball tee time 9.40. On arrival I was informed by pro shop staff that fairway mats and only golf trollies with winter were allowed, we had to rent and not use our flat tyre trollies. Slow play encountered from the 1st tee, there was a Snrs comp with a mixture of ten 3 and 4 balls. I was also informed that we would need to be through 15 holes by 12.30 as a shotgun start would commence, pretty. much impossible. Came of the course having completed 14 holes. In summary a slow incomplete round.

We enjoyed our game at HG, a good location to find and well isolated from outside noise. There is a lot of pars 3s and 5s compared to most courses, but they played well to their yardage. Greens were good for the time of year, and with the slopes I can imagine it being a challenge in the summer. A few holes have had recent extensive drainage work, but it didnt affect the play.

Disappointing from start to finish. Despite the opening times on the website the club house did not open until 11am and when we did try to go in after the round at midday the door was still locked.

Course is in bad condition considering the reputation it has. I know we have had a bad summer but this is by far the worst course condition I have seen this year. Significant amounts of GUR and standing water. For a McKense course, greens were incredibly slow as they were caked in treatment.

Course was in fantastic condition and although teeing off at 5pm we managed to get 14 holes in before it was too dark....got an absolute bargain at £5.00 per person not sure if this was an error on the booking system or not but would have happily paid alot more...

Great staff as well who were very helpful when checking in...

Most enjoyable round of golf. Sadly two holes were closed due to drainage issues, which we were only informed of upon arrival.

Course was great however the greens were very heavily sanded and clumpy patches in places which was a real shame. Would like to play again with better green conditions as was a slight dampener on an otherwise great course
