Great value for money but not best course layout

Overall the course is in very good condition and value for money is incredibly good. My personal preference meant I didn't like the layout which has so many blind rises you're not able to plan your shot or see where your ball goes. If this doesn't bother you (or you know the course) then definitely a great course to play at an even better price.

Great golf course

Great course, the layout is very good and every hole feels very different. The 1st and 10th holes are fun short downhill par 4's that encourage you to go for the green and the par 3's aren't too challenging but aren't too easy either.

I would say the staff in the bar could be a little friendlier, the lady on shift looked a bit stressed and the welcome wasn't overly friendly.

Condition of the course was very good. Big puddles on some of the greens and lots of leaves, however we did play in the afternoon and after it had rained.

I will definitely go back

A workout for the legs

Booked a few days in advance little did I know rain was forecasted all day. Got out of the car and it came down hard with wind to boot. A 2 ball we were the only nutters out on the course. We both hit poor first tee shots. Weather aside it eventually went from hard to light rain. The course was immaculate - hardly any rough - pretty much semi rough - Thank you!! So no time wasted searching for balls in rough great pay and play for that alone. I'd compare it to Pinner Hill as the terrain is equal to the up and down the hill. Gotta take in the slope of fairways early on. Being a lefty quite a few lies were below my feet and topped several shots - so bear that in mind and compensate. I would employ extra loft on the uphill holes. My friend struggled to air his shots and I should have used my hybrid.

The greens were immaculate and hard and dry - well done green keepers great drainage balls rolled fast even on this wet day - rarely will I say this even the bunkers were good to play out of - not compacted - nice!

Will def be back for an early tee time as we lost the light with bad weather.

A great course has something for everyone

Great greens

Really nice short course which is in great condition. Although it’s a fairly short and open course it is still a good challenge. Lots of interesting holes and very hilly. Greens are immaculate, fast and run true.

Hazelmere would be a great course if not at High Wycombe

The greens were in great condition, fairways above average. Pace of play was very good. The Price was more expensive than last year. The Staff were very helpful. Road works outside of club were confusing.

Great course

We had played this once before and liked how hard the challenge was greens were great and wanted to play it again to improve. This course played even harder second time around and now looking forward to playing this again a few more times and with a hot deal price. Hope it comes up again well worth the money at this price.

Very poor customer service

I pre booked a round on the golf course web site. When I turned up on the day the staff member said that there was no record of my booking. I therefore paid on arrival, whilst being assured that no money had been taken from my account for a pre booking. When I checked my account a few days later I could see that my pre booking had gone through, so I had paid £30 twice.

I therefore emailed the pro shop explaining the situation, which I received no response to. A few days later I then called the pro shop. The member of staff basically said it was my fault that the pre booking hadn’t gone through, even though I could prove that the transaction had and money had been taken. He was unfriendly and in a rush to get off the phone to me. Hazlemere offered no refund, or additional round for the the expense I paid.

This in a way was a blessing because I was going to become a member at this course that very week, so for the very poor customer service they gave, they lost out on £1000 a year from my pocket.

Great course

Beautiful rolling hills, very hilly and challenging to gauge distance and walk. A lot of blind tee and approach shots, especially the first hole if you haven't played there before. Beware the 9th - Ascent is a steep climb!

Buggy or Trolley needed

Lovely course which is really well set out with friendly staff. Very scenic course set in a valley and in great condition with undulating quick greens and a few two tier greens. With the course being set in a valley it is a very hilly course so a trolley or buggy is a must in my opinion. Will without doubt be playing this course again very enjoyable round.

Lovely course

A lovely and interesting course. Not long but varied with enough hazards to keep you on your toes. In much better condition than other courses I’ve played since end of lockdown. First time I’ve played here but won’t be the last.

Make sure you have a trolley!

Nice course, friendly staff well maintained considering coronavirus lockdown etc. greens had been hollow times so can’t really speak for their quality in terms of the putting experience.

A challenging course with a very rare flat lie to be had - offers a good technical challenge, felt a little crowded (layoutI mean, not folks on the course), overall as a new experience I would say I enjoyed the course, I would play again at some point. Not a course that I would join as a a member but that’s a personal opinion.

Hope ur fit

Course was in good condition

First time playing so some of the holes a bit confusing with where the direction of the greens were as quite a few blind shots

Definitely a hilly course and you got a real cv workout

Would need to play course more than once to truly appreciate it

I Wouldn't' recommend

Overall it was a disappointing experience. The greens were in very good condition and food in the club house was spot on. However, the tee's were in dreadful condition, same goes for the fairways. The ground seemed to be made out of clay (Hard ground), only 75% of the fairway is actually grass. The course layout was great either, unless you've played here before you're really going to struggle because you're constantly hitting approach or tee shots without actually seeing the hole because the course is so hilly. You will rarely find yourself playing a shot on level ground.

Summary

Fairways: 3/10

Tee box: 3/10

Greens: 7.5/10

Bunkers 7/10

Food 8/10

Course Layout: 4/10

Odds on someone picking up your ball 2/18
