Excellent course
The course is amazing the greens true, challenging and fast played this course 3 times now and it's a pleasure to play, the pro shop super helpful look forward to the next time
Fantastic greens
Most tee boxes were fine , the greens were fantastic . Barely any grass on the fairways , but that will be the time of year and lack of rain
Worth a visit
Nice course, with a variety of different type of holes and shots (more strategic off the tees than a huge drive was needed).
Greens as expected this time of year.
Lots of bunkers on most of the holes (good sand in them).
All four of us felt that the course was not too challenging (we used the white tees - the yellow would have made the course very short).
Round was slowish due to a golf society (well they were all dressed the same !) having a number of four-ball groups in front of us, and they were playing f from the black tees).
We will return later in the year when the greens have been cut and treated over the summer.
Really enjoyed this course and will be returning within the next few months. We let a 2 ball play through even though they seemed happy to wait. Pace of play was good and course wasn’t over crowded. People need to repair their divots but was still in really good condition
Brilliant condition for early spring many challenging holes and some nice easy parable holes , will definitely return and recommend to others
Frosty round
Almost deserted course so no issues of being held up. Just one hole out due to a frozen green, although they could have created a temporary green to provide a full 18 holes.
Our fist time playing Holme hall golf course and we was impressed with how the course had been maintained . The greens where smooth and well kept . Also it was good to see staff members working on improving the bunkers.
We will be returning 😊
Excellent
From arriving at the course to leaving we had an excellent day. With a 07.30 tee time we arrived early and met two staff who were tidying up after a wedding the day before and they talked us around the course before the pro arrived. When the pro arrived Sam I believe was just as welcoming, The course was in excellent condition for the time of year and the greens were running true. The bar staff really friendly and welcoming too, we most certainly will be going back. Thank you for a wonderful day.
What happened to the course?
Played this course 8 years ago it was the best course in the county. Tight and tough. The slash and burn policy has removed everything that made the course great. Trees removed, bunkers filled in and bushes cut down. A reasonable society course but no longer a good challenge of golf.
Lovely course
Greens a little hard , making it play like links golf. Some fairways not recovered from last years weather and had bare , scruffy areas but generally very good. Live locally and would definitely return for the price.

No negatives for time of year don't think it could of been better
Great layout
Holme hall is a great winter course with a great layout and what I would call a proper golf course with well placed hazards.The tees and greens were in fantastic condition for this time of year but the fairways are bare in places and also a lot of digits about.

I used to be junior captain here 15 years ago. Played yesterday and can’t believe the amount that’s been cut down and the bunkers on the 1st being filled in. Don’t understand why you would me the course easier and more open. I was disappointed.
