Some of the members lacking in etiquette. 18 hole course. No!
Overall condition of the course was cracking and the greens were pretty much immaculate. Oh and fast, very fast.
The biggest annoyance of the day (and soured the round) was the lack of etiquette from a group of older ladies who teed off 10mins before me (lone golfer). I was being held up from the 2nd hole despite them being 10 minutes ahead just one hole previous. Now I didn't expect to be let through immediately however it got to the point where I attempted to wave through a 2 ball through to see if they would be let through by the ladies but those guys said no, as they weren't in a rush (neither was I) but there was a single golfer closing in on them and what looked to be 2x 3 balls following on behind him. Thankfully after almost 2 hours they completed the front 9 and left the course. (2 hours doesn't sound bad but it's a short course and I was off the course, 18 played in just over 3 hours 10 mins)
I've been pretty critical of the layout because on a busy day the shared greens will make this a nightmare to play.
1 is shared with 10, 2 with 11, 4 with 13, 6 with 15, 8 with 17 and 9 with 18. Absolutely crazy. Then you have the 14 which tees over the 4th, 8th, 13th and 17th fairway.
It would make a better long 9 (or 12) hole course. 18 is too cluttered with too many shared greens.
Had a chat with the new boss and hopefully things will improve as he seemed keen to make a few alterations and updates.
Quirky layout!
Quirky layout, where you need to be aware of other golfers playing, around you. Never been on such an open course where it has been so difficult to locate one's ball after a shot. Card map of the course didn't exactly match the info/pin placement, on each hole, and signage as to where to go could have been better on one or two holes.
General condition was good, if grass, a little on the long side, everywhere.
Good day out but poor course
The whole course was very wet, almost water logged. Greens where not in use and make shift holes where made on the fairways. Made the whole experience poor with the ground on the fairways in poor condition so putting was very unpredictable. Would recommend going in the warmer weather when the ground firmed up a bit.
Different.
First time i had played this course but have walked past lots of times as it is on the seafront.
This is a 18 hole course with 12 greens. You play 6 of them twice. The greens are in good condition for October, fairways are nicely kept. When inplayed the wond was horrendous. I had to drive 75 years wide of where i wanted to, i am a 12 handicap player so can hit the ball abit. I scored 26 points which shows you how bad the weather was. A few holes have up to 16 players criss crossing soncan be confusing. The course could do with maps on each hole.
Poor Layout
Worst layout I've ever seen
Lovely little lynx course
Nice little 9 hole course in great condition and a lot of fun, the par 3s look easy but as with all lynx golf put the ball in the air and it can go anywhere.. well worth a day out. Staff and members really friendly
Good course
Very friendly members who helped with layout of course. Few playing during our round, which would be an interesting course if it was windy! Well worth a visit.
A good experiance
First time playing here and thoroughly enjoyable, a very warm welcome by the young lady a reception, a quirky little course that was fun to play and in good condition. Spoke to a few members who were very accommodating. Will be going back that's for sure
Not bad a course
Got a friendly welcome, could have a drink but not hot food ( bacon cob) just checked my confirmation with the email and was told I could play when I was ready.
Not good at the moment for car parking as there is some construction going on right next to the course ,.
played 18 holes but you do come off different tee boxes, and a couple of greens are not played twice, which is not bad at all.
