With hardly any courses open in the area.
We booked Lydd. 9 of us played. It was great to get out and play. The course was ok to play. And we all had a great day.
Great winter course
Brilliant winter golf course.
Amazing food.
Wonderful staff.
10/10
Great fun but pace of play was something to be desired.
I really like playing here. Great facilities, good staff, and playable all year round. But the pace of play can be horrendous. On this particular round, a two and a three ball in from of us (a 3 ball) walked off the course, the three ball because of the v slow four in front. We actually skipped two holes to get ahead of them, so it took 4 hours to do 16 holes which great for a 3 ball when two groups in front of us also walked off. We were only 3 mins late off the tee so started ok (because of the groups in front). It’s not the first time…..BUT…..the course is amazing value for money and totally worth playing. It’s not always this bad!
Great course
Love playing this course..staff super friendly great food at good prices .always helpful highly recommend to all my golf friends
Dry fairways when others are very wet
Fairways and greens in great condition considering all the wet weather of late, looking forward to the next round here already!
Great course!
Good course slow play
Excellent course with good blend of links and parkland holes. Only issue was the slow place of play. Playing as a single, spent 4 hours trapper behind a fourball. Club does not enforce a pace of play policy which affected the round
Great friendly coarse!
I took my three sons for a round at Lydd! Happy with the value for money with the 50 balls for £6 at the range beforehand.
I asked for a little advice on the coarse and the pro said avoid going left… sadly I went left off the first tee!
Great coarse layout with think Links rough making the coarse tricky if you miss the fairway!
We all had a great time. Lost several balls but we enjoyed the coarse immensely.
I cannot thank the staff at the coarse enough for their friendliness! Great people!
Greens and bunkers disappointing.
Played this last year and really enjoyed it. This year the greens must have suffered due to lack of rain possibly. Played twice in last 2 weeks and greens are covered in sand. Very very dry and bumpy due to the lumps of sand. Compared to other local courses they look like not getting watered. Bunkers were not raked and most had a bunch of plants and stones in them, looked terrible. I like the design of the course and will try it again though. Going to wait a while amd hope it improves a bit.
Love the whole experience of lydd
They have the whole experience sorted ..course food staff prices .....if your reading this and havnt played ..book it now ...Great fun what ever the weather....enjoy the changing wind direction.. worse that can happen is loose a few balls
An overlooked gem
Was really pleasantly surprised by what I thought would be a slightly second rate course, but it was actually immaculate as well as being a real challenge. Some fast tricky greens, long links grass and a steady breeze mean that it's not for the fainthearted. Members and proshop all very friendly, and even a recently opened half-way house to help us keep hydrated.
Game of two nines
Teed off just after 7am on a calm sunny day. Nice welcome from the pro shop. The course is flat so easy walking, but that meant on some holes it is difficult to picture the nature of some hazards and dog legs from the tees.
The greens were in excellent condition. Even the fairways were in decent condition despite the dry weather.
For a mid handicap player, played the best 11 holes of my life to be 1 under par! Sadly I came back down to reality on the next 2 holes...
Thoroughly enjoyed the round despite eventually getting caught out by the many punishing water hazards.
Perhaps a little expensive but certainly worth playing at least once
Excellent links course easy to navigate
Excellent mainly flat course plenty of water hazards to navigate
Great course love playing hear
All good to return here friendly great club house friendly service good food and drink options
Exceptional Value for Money
Course was in fantastic condition. Greens were superb quick and true. One of the nicest courses i have played for a long time and £25 on a weekend is unbelievable Value.
Highly recommended.
