Value for money
Course in excellent condition - greens fast and true.
There are some good chances for a birdie at the moment - well worth a visit
A Test!!!
Not the best walking on the hottest day of the year! But very good and testing course, no hold ups and managed to complete the 18 holes in 3:45 hours.
Dad and son (son won)
Great course with a great variety of hols quite hilly so will book a buggy next time 👍🏻
Great course
For the money you will not play a better course. The course is in really good condition with fast greens, a real test of you're golf. If I lived closer a would become a member.
Please if you can play there you will not be disappointed. I will be going back in the next couple of weeks.
They are improving the drainage of the fairway so it can be open during the winter. It will not spoil your round.
Value for money
For the price we paid, it was a surprisingly good woodland course with a number of water features. You walk up and down the side of the hills but this enabled great views of the countryside.
Drainage is being installed on a number of holes but this did not affect our enjoyment
The greens are in good conditions but the borrows make it interesting
Place to ourselves
Had a couple of friends visiting who like to play golf, so booked a round at the course. I know it was Wednesday mid-day, but what a great time to play if you want to have the course to yourself !. - and all this for £25pp.
Course was in immaculate condition, with greens proving to be v fast, so spin on your approach shots essential.
After the game retreated to the hotel bar, which wasnt overpriced like some.
All in all, if you like a championship course, a bit challenging, then this is for you.
Clean polite good course hilly so if not your thing get a cart

A little Stratford gem
For the price paid through GN (£25), what a great little track. Fairways were very tidy and not a pitch mark on any of the greens.. although a little slow. No 2 holes are the same and it’s quite a picturesque setting too. A few hills to deal with but that makes the course interesting to play. Pro show was closed upon arrival 07:20am for a 07:45 tee time, but hey.. managed to jump on with 2 members and their guest, who were really kind in allowing me to join up with them and made the trip really enjoyable and welcoming..
I would absolutely return, no question.. a class little course
Thanks guys
Very good course.
For the money you will not play a better course. Hard to find a fault. Highly recommend you play this course.
Rare gem
Course played really well, good mixture of holes where you don’t need to hit driver off the tee all the time. Value for money is extremely good! Only down side, few members moaned we were there during the week and said we should be at work!
Also a couple of guys turned up and played without paying which is a joke considering the low costs anyway.
Keep up the good work as the course will certainly attract more players
Average
The course layout was good with some interesting holes. Condition though was very average and it looks a bit tired and in need of some TLC. I got the sense the course is a bit of a workhorse and gets quite a bit of traffic from people fairly new to golf looking for somewhere fairly cheap to play. Bunkers were poor. The pace on the day was poor but that was due to a four ball who had no clue about letting a two ball through. Not a fault of the course though.
It suited my needs though for the day as wanted a round as playing on my own without having to pay silly money.
OMG
It was a pleasure to play. About a year ago I played there and I write a bad review about the course. OMG how things have changed. The course was in fantastic condition. I would highly recommend you play here, it in great shape and the greens a very fast., for the money it’s one of the best courses you will play.
It’s a bit hilly, so if you have problems walking a long hilly course I would recommend a Buggy.
Please play it you will not be disappointed. Its was that good my 4 ball is talking playing there every Wednesday.
Thanks to the team there for making the improvements. We will be back again and again.
Should've been closed!
We arrived with a course closed sign on the pro shop, then to a member of staff stating its wet just remember you've only paid £20 so don't complain? i found this very strange and concerning.
I then went on England Gold to record my round as i always do and it wouldn't let me as "the course was closed" in the morning i received a text from the course stating "Carry only"
The course was not set up to play for example the fairways were at least 3 inches long and difficult to even determine what was a fairway versus the rough, we'd traveled 25 miles to play. The ground was sodden, ducks on the fairways in pools of water and after 4 holes i'd lost 5 balls even after hitting the fairways. Even on the highest point of the course it was sodden, many holes un-walkable. After 11 holes we walked in covered in mud and completely disinterested.
i appreciate the staff member said its wet but it was unplayable and i'd have much rather received a message saying it was closed rather than wasting our time and the cost of multiple titleist Pro balls!!
It may be a nice course in dry weather and being mowed however very disappointed with the course and their responsibilities to paying players and Golf Now for not stepping in. On this day it was about taking our money not playing golf. I can only comment on the day we were there.
Terrible Ground Quality
If you are unable to cut the grass on the fairways to the point it is like playing in rough, then why keep the course open and charge £30 a round (summer golf prices).
I understand the rain and weather we have had but there is no excuse to stay open if its impossible to find you ball in the middle of the fairway due to long grass and soft ground.
Not happy at all.
Not a bad course in the summer but feel very ripped off when the course condition is so poor.
Not cut and not looked after greens are ok
