Stratford Oaks Golf Club

I played thaïs course for the first time in September. Weather was perfect on that day.

Course very well maintained, chipping/putting area is excellent.

Greens were perfect, fairway started to recover from the exceptionnal dry Summer.

With a buggy, i played in 3:30 hours.

For this price 27GBP, a real bargain.

I highly recommend this course.

Course recovering well after dry summer.

The recent rain has helped enormously.

The greens were superb.

Played again this year while visiting UK and out of the 8 courses we played the greens here were the best we have played. The rest of the course is the same as UK and very hard dry but somehow they have kept the greens in very good condition. Nice driving range and cafe/bar area. The only thing is lack of a little pro shop but otherwise lovely course to walk and my wife always looks forward to playing this course.

Very pleased with our days golfing, driving range, practice area all brilliant. Clubhouse has everything you could need. The food and service were excellent.

The course layout is good and the tees and greens well looked after. Greens are super fast, but the practice putting green is exactly the same so you know what is coming and it’s fair. There are some small ponds and a couple of holes feature these as water hazards. It’s missing a fairway irrigation system and by August it could be parched if this dry weather keeps up. Overall a consistent and fair course to play, We all agreed we would return, possibly Spring or Autumn.

Ideal conditions to play the course. First time I have played it. Staff very friendly & helpful. Would go again if another Top Deal price came up.

Whilst on a short break, I chose to play Stratford Oaks. This was a good choice!

Had some food before playing and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The course was in superb condition, greens lightening fast but true, a lovely test of the short game.

I was let through twice (as a single player) and then joined 2 members who were the friendliest people.

Overall, a great afternoon.

The wildlife around the course was lovely too, the odd hare making and appearance and an abundance of birdlife, just lovely!

We were greeted in a very friendly manner and welcomed to the club. The course itself is quite short, but the greens are fantastic. Very fast with a true roll. Very easy to navigate the course and it could classed on the easier side, but the tall feather grass does teach you to rein it in a bit otherwise you’ll be losing balls. Didn’t get a chance to sample the off course amenities but overall a pleasant round of golf on a well maintained course.

Top marks to the groundsmen, the course was in excellent condition despite the hot weather. It was busy and we did get behind a slow group, but to be fair, after a short while they let us play through. Only downside was the putting and chipping practice area that looked very good was reserved for members. Overall, I'd definitely recommend.

Its a nice little golf club, the staff are polite and very welcoming.

The course was very well maintained, greens running moderate/fast and true, bunkers well groomed and the tee boxes were actually flat which is normally a huge annoyance for me. The course would be fairly easy if the wind wasn't gusting at 35mph.

Pace of play was great. I was using a buggy and finished the 18 in about 2hrs 30mins which was great as i wasn't really rushing either.

The fairways have survived the heavy rains and whilst not yet fit for buggies, are reasonable to walk on. The greens are excellent ( although too many golfers don’t repair pitch marks) and there are improvement work underway on some of the bunkers!

Really good place, driving range brilliant. Course open play, lovely green.

For the cost this was amazing, the greens have recently been dressed hence the price, but they were almost fully ready. The rest of the course was very dry and hard but didn't spoil a nice day. Clubhouse staff were great as was the Pro shop. Well worth the visit.
