Great winter course
Played after prolonged period of heavy rain, my course like many were closed. Greens fast and true, fairways in good condition, the only wet ares were in the rough. In my opinion the Kings course is better than the Earls course, better greens and more interesting layout.
Solid golf venue
I’ve played the Warwickshire a number of times on the Earls Course so today chose the Kings instead. It was fun but it’s reputation as the weaker of the two is deserved, there are just a few less memorable holes. That said, it is still above average and certainly worth anyones time to try it out.
Greens on this occasion weren’t up to the usual standard, a little bobbly and slow, which was disappointing.
We also had lunch in the bar which was very good.
One last thing, the Warwickshire as a whole desperately needs another set of tees. For casual players and high handicappers, 6,500+ yards off the yellows is pretty long and can turn the whole thing into a bit of a slog.
Nov 2021 Golf
Disappointing that booking didn’t mention winter wheels & 6 players then had to hire trolleys at £5 each or carry - Kings Course had about 6 soft spots around all 18 holes. Trolleys would have been fine. Hollow tined greens were frankly awful. Played the course today which was challenging with the wind as well as the cold/ poor greens. In hindsight we’d have gone elsewhere & probably had a better day out.
Winter conditions
This is a great layout and a beautiful area to play a round of golf
The weather was dry but cold and windy which made it a challenge in it's self. The course was very wet and muddy in some places and the greens had been heavily treated earlier that week so putting was understandably difficult
However, we were there for the opportunity to play on this outstanding course and play as well as we could despite the conditions and it was a very enjoyable day.
One club more
Brilliant day at the Warwickshire, staff great, course fabulous. Learnt to take one club more after taking one shot more on the front 9 par fours.
Clever holes and a real test of golf
No fairways
Most courses can manage a decent bit of grass at this time of year. Not the Warwickshire though. The rough and what should be a fairway are just the same. It’s impossible to tell where the edge is.
Premium prices for very sub-premium course conditions. Add to this the price hikes at weekends and bank holidays, and the obligatory 5-hour round, and you wonder why anyone plays there.
Good course but needs to be looked after
Good course but for the money would of thought the course could of been looked after better. Fairways were not cut and the greens were really slow, wouldn’t mind paying the price again if the course was in better condition, but you can play better looked after courses around here for a lot cheaper.
Considering no one has played here for months and the past few weeks were quite dry, greens were fluffy and slow, no definition to the fairways and we was stuck behind some terribly slow players and missed 3 holes to get round ! The cold didn’t help so maybe it would have been different on a sunny, defiantly not worth £45pp, £30 at a push
Great course. Definitely worth a visit.
Really nice course. Some really stunning holes. Facilities and staff were great as well.
Course was way to busy. Water logged and should of cancelled both courses instead of merging 2 together
Excellent
First time I’ve played the course since the changes, very impressed indeed
Great days golf
Played a lovely round with good company on a fantastically maintained course. Looking forward to our next challenging visit. A course that offers everything.
Great day of golf
Brilliant days golf. If there was one request it would be more signage to the next tee. A number of golfers wandering around looking for tee 2 and 10 .
Nice course, well maintained.
Some courses have managed to maintain things well during lockdown, and this is definitely one of them. Two course, equally as good as each other but quite different. Decent clubhouse and friendly staff.
But.... please open up tee times for single players - and not charge the same as two balls. Even if its later in the day when it's quiet.
Nice course
Nice course it was a shame to meet a snotty member who clearly doesn’t appreciate good golfers playing his course.
