Mendip Golf Club - Mendip Course

Played here on a fairly cold day after a lot of rain. Only 2 temporary greens and course in wonderful condition, the grounds team have done a great job. Course has a really good layout with some fun holes.

If I lived closer would be here regularly. Playing much better than most of the course in Bristol this time of year!

Watch my course review on insta or TikTok: Golfistash. This course is an absolute hidden gem and was great fun to play! Very hilly with sensational views, as you're at over 1000ft elevation. SERIOUSLY hilly, especially the first hole, so we opted for a buggy. Played in the middle of summer so the fairways were bone dry, but tee boxes were decent and greens were pure. Good variety or holes so nothing was repetitive. Full length covered range, friendly staff and great food. Would highly recommend!

This course had some of the most beautiful views I’ve ever experienced on a golf course in the UK! You could see for miles which added so much enjoyment to the round. The course itself was a great design with lots of variation. Brilliant fun to play, and condition wasn’t bad for how dry it’s been. Greens ran pretty true, but fairways were dry and tee boxes were really poor. For the price, you can’t complain too much. The food was great — nice patio area outside and there was a full length driving range right next to the 1st tee. Overall, I loved this course and would happily return!

Good course, as you’d expect a good mix of hole layouts. Very friendly staff and members. Would be a very difficult course in summer - not many, if any, flat fairways and if you don’t know the course then you could be in a lot of trouble with what seem to be good tee shots. But all part of the fun! Only recommendation would be a proper course planner

The course plays / drains very well considering the amount of rain received in the area. Some very nice holes from 4 to 16 - an interesting course and good value for money.

Views are amazing.

Would be nice if pro shop tried to pair you with other golfers - a two ball, then 1 ball went out ahead of me - despite asking staff they did not try to accommodate.

The views are magnificent all around the course, which was in pristine condition, both the fairways and the greens. A very enjoyable round

Really nice course with a good layout of holes. Played this on a Saturday afternoon so quite busy but not left waiting around on tee boxes and getting cold and frustrated.

Staff friendly enough and the course itself beautiful on a nice sunny day. Would definitely play again would recommend if never played here before. Will return this summer.

We always enjoy our visits to Mendip. The staff are friendly and the course is a nice set up . The finish of 17 & 18 always feel a little underwhelming (I hear the course may ‘swop the 9s’ over one day). The range is a welcome addition to the facilities (despite being part of the reason why there is now the weak finish).

Sadly, we found the greens slow and ‘bobbly/not running true’’, which may be a left over from the wet weather (although other courses we’ve played don’t seem be suffering the same).

All in all Mendip is a worthwhile visit, but not if you expect exceptional greens.

Nice course and with the weather being so wet nice to be able to play on the course good work by the green keepers pro shop very friendly staff definitely will be back again 👍

Brilliant course, played it very wet conditions but the greens and tee box’s held up really well considering how much rain came down throughout the round. Would recommend and will be returning for sure!
