About
Greatwood is known for its white sand bunkers and impressive par 3s, three of which play right at or over 200 yards. The 1989 Carlton Gipson design features elevated tees and greens that sandwich plush fairways and are contoured with mounds.
The 434-yard par 4 hole 5 is one difficult par, featuring a fairways loaded with bunkers and involves water on the approach. No. 18 goes 576, yards. While the tee shot is fairly standard, the second shot must land short of a plateau and might involve a blind approach shot if placed too far to the left. The intimidating approach plays into a green surrounded by water on three sides.
Getting there : From Hwy. 59 south, turn left on Crab River Rd., then make a left onto the other side of Hwy. 59. Look for Greatwood Pkwy. and make another left when you get there.

Very good shape
Fairway and greens where in great shape. Will play here again.
Getting better
Greens and fairways conditions are getting better. Lady in the clubhouse is friendly . Club needs to cleanup the dried tree branches caused by recent hurricane.
Need to Marshall the back nine
Course in decent shape, but the back nine was very slow, they need Marshall’s that drive the course and keep people moving…regularly waited 5-10 minutes on each hole of the back nine
Members need etiquette lessons
Enjoyed the course; good layout, good conditions, GREAT value! Traffic jam on back nine (no big deal). Threesome kept pushing the pace but there was nowhere to go. Later learned they were MEMBERS, who really should know better.
MY EXCITING GOLFING EXPERIENCE AT GREATWOOD GOLF COURSE.
My wife and I had a very exciting round of golf yesterday at the Greatwood Golf Course. The numerous penalty areas was a very big challenge as we lost many golf balls that were played into the lakes. Driving on the golf cart over a distance of what could make for a long Par 5 was both challenging and exciting.
This course is a goat ranch
Worst course I have played ever!
Dried out fairways, uneven tee boxes, dirty, smelly bathrooms.
A complete waste of money!
Greatly improved
On course conditions have improved vastly over the last couple of months.
