Lovely Course
Lovely Course, great wildlife, flat but with plenty of challenges including lots of water and bunkers.
Excellent value for money
Golf outing at Lydd
We had all played Lydd before but were also agreed that it would be a pleasure to play it again. When so many courses have suffered badly with the weather Lydd was our first choice and was in excellent condition. The greens were smooth and true and the layout is a good test of golf at all levels. An enjoyable day which we hoped to repeat !
Great Course
Fantastic course, even though it has been raining lots recently, the course is in really good conditions, greens are very well looked after and would definitely be returning!
Excellent day at Lydd
We arrived 20 minutes before our scheduled tee time which was just right to get our clubs out and shoes on. The course was dry and the greens smooth and quick. Very enjoyable round at an easy pace with the 18 holes taking Just 3 hours 15 minutes ! Great day which we will certainly revisit.
Trip to Lydd
With our own course shut due to the continual rainfall we were recommended to Lydd by a club member. Our experience was a real surprise, as the course was remarkably dry underfoot and the greens in superb shape. We would definitely visit again as the winter sunshine combined with the course accessibility is an attractive package and is excellent value for money.
Greens and bunkers poles apart
Greens in good order. Fairways ok at best. Bunkers dreadful. Compacted sand but more worrying large amounts of grass growing in some of the bunkers which show lack of attention.
Excellent value for money but needs sand in bunkers
Lydd Golf Course tests the average golfer from the yellow tees and the better players from the white.
Booked online for just £12 each, this par 71 course at 6623 yards from the white tees is great value for money.
The greens were in superb condition and nice and fast.
Only downside was most of the bunkers have grass growing through and very little sand.
Overall: very good & I would play again
Thoroughly enjoyable
Other than some (30%-40%) of bunkers being overhauled/GUR the course was in excellent shape... superb greens as always and tidy tee boxes. The rough was thin and wispy in places, thick in others (no complaints - I should have put it on the fairway eh?!). Drains and ponds constantly thought provoking and general layout makes you think the whole way round. Was in a rush so no time to sample hospitality in the bar post-round... quick shower and change in the acceptable changing rooms and we were off.
Highly recomend
Excellent course, Wind was up made it a real challenge
Superb day out
This was a great day out. My wife and kids spent the day walking Alpacas so I had a spare day whilst on holiday in Kent. Lydd was great value at just £10 for 18 holes. I was not disappointed. The course was in great condition. On a windy day is quite a challenge with water hazards on at least 11 holes. I flew round in around 3 hours despite following 2 four balls who let me through without having to ask.
Overall a really enjoyable experience.
Poor Conditions
Where to start, first time playing this course and it’s in a bad state,
Greens: so many holes unrepaired, divots and holes just left making putting impossible, possible 2-3 good greens out the 18 holes
Tee boxes: More like teeing off from the rough, holes, divots and bald, very poor conditions and no sand to help repair boxes
Bunkers: either solid compacted sand, waterlogged or full of plants growing in them or no sand at all very poor!
Fairways: heavy underfoot and again a lot of divots,
All in all disappointed in the fact the price does not represent the course
Great price for xmas outing
Very busy but not much waiting on tees. Bunkers in poor condition with grass growing through the sand. Greens were generally good for the time of year. Bargain for the price paid.
Great tester
Greens, fairways and bunkers in great contrition. Testing course which makes you choose your club carefully, I didn’t, and very enjoyable. Defiantly going back
A good challenging course
Given the very dry conditions the course was in pretty good shape. More attention needs to be paid to the bunkers but for the price very good value. For the average golfer I was pleased to see that the rough had been cut back a little.
Always a pleasure
The Lydd course and the infrastructure always makes for a good day. Go off many of the fairways and lost balls are frequent, especially into the water channels . The fairway are accommodating and the greens were in very decent condition. Will be back again
