overall poor

staff weren’t friendly whatsoever, practice facility behind what you get from macdonald hotels.

pace of play was shocking took us about 5 hours to complete our round as a 3 ball consistently waiting for tees to become free.

got hit into in blind hills too many times to count (on a green nearly got hit by a 2 ball behind us as we were putting)

members there are absolutely vile giving anyone stick if they challenge them for hitting into them

as for the course decent course if you enjoy a challenge with long par 3, if you can get your tee into the ground you might get lucky but had. no choice but go off deck many times.

overall a very poor experience for my 3 ball celebrating a birthday we won’t be returning

Horrendous

Turned up today for my 12:50 tee time. At 12:45 there is 10 people waiting to tee off with another 4 people in sight on the fairway. Took me almost 3 hours to play 9 holes. I booked and paid for 18 but i walked off after 9.

The course conditions were just as good as the pace of play. Tee boxes resembled a pig sty and on several greens half the grass was missing.

Even with the £23 fee i paid, i felt ripped off.

Don't play Sunday after lunch

The slowest pace I have ever experienced. Walked off after nine and won't be in a rush to go back.

Standard macdonald chain

Course was ok, nothing to write home about. Trying to get served was impossible - lack of staff was poor.

The course was in great condition considering the traffic going through it.

1.5 hour drive but easy to get to. Parking was easy breakfast sandwich was really good.

Teed off at 12.10. Course was great. Was a slow pace of play being a resort/society venue. Took us 4 hours 45 minutes.

Met some great people on our way around.

Had a great round of +1 gross.

Will definitely go back there.

Pace of Play

Course we play regularly, front 9 took 2.5 hours with painfully slow groups of 4 in front. We missed holes 12&13 so the round didn’t take over 5 hours

Hill valley lives up to its name

Hard course to play when it’s so dry, sloping fairways mean even the straight shots bounce into places on that course that shouldn’t have a golf shot played from.

Lovely setting for a round of golf! Course in good shape for a macdonald hotel!

Staff were really friendly and accomodating adjusting tee time as one player was running late. Course was excellent, great design and good condition. Only issue we encountered was a group playing as a 6 ball in front of us.

Good course for the money

Good course only issue was really slow play in front from some group bookings in buggies that were holding everyone up. Course was clear in front of them but they spent ages on the tee and then looking for a ball on nearly every hole
