Messed up tee times
At one point there were 12 of us on one tee box waiting to tee of due to the pace of play being so slow due too overbooking. And the greens were badly cut
Great little course
Turned up to play not expecting much due to the horrible weather!! Course was very good despite the constant rain.
Hard to enjoy
I've played here many times, it was a course where I learned to play so I have an affection for the place. I'd still come here when it's quiet but it's a disaster when busy. My slot was double booked and we had to wait 50 mins to tee off. The round then took nearly 5 hours due to slow play ahead.
I once went round on my own in just over 2 hours, it's not a difficult course but it attracts a lot of less capable golfers which is fair enough, we all have to start somewhere but I'd advise you to keep away from busy hours as it's always badly organised around the tee times.
Excellent value
The sun was shining! The course was in good condition. Wasn’t expecting much after reading the reviews, but had a pleasant 9 holes in just under 90 minutes. All for £9! (Club comp. was just finishing when we arrived).
Adhoc Round
I enjoyed the course quick early round exactly as described nice for tuning up your game or a fast round. Great shape for the time of the year and worth the price
Good job to the team here
Terrible experience
Have played this course before.. had a good experience.
Booked on golf now and arrived at course noticed it was very busy..
First thing no toilet paper in the toilets.. had to wait about 15 minutes to speak with manager to get one whilst he was on a personal phone call.. then attempted to charge me a £1 for the privilege.
Went to the first tee.. manager came out and told me to book in.. because he said “when u book on golf now u don’t have to pay sometimes” I replied this is not true. Then he said “ can u start on the 7th hole due to a four ball competition going ahead!! So begrudgingly we did.. when we reached the 1st we were in the middle of a full blown competition going ridiculously slow. Estimated 9 hole course four hours which is unacceptable. As we reached the 1st we decided to. call it a day.. I went to see the manager I said..” u should of not allowed golf now to offer and sell
T times in the middle of a competition . He replied golf now has nothing to do with me.. they sell times regardless of what’s going on.. which I also find unexceptionable!! Does anyone know if this is correct?
Poor greens & members ignorant
Visited this course on 19th September only because my own course was closed due to queens funeral.
We were a 2 ball and were following a 4 ball all of which were members.
Unfortunately these members were extremely slow (spending long amount of time looking for wayward balls), not once did the offer to let us play infront of them.
We were constantly 1 shot behind them waiting in some case 8/10 mins from shot to shot.
Facility wise Queens Park crewe is declining, greens of poor quality also fairways had big divets.
Even though the cost was £9 for 9 holes i wouldn't recommend because it took us nearly 2.5 hrs to complete our round.
Overall my experience was 3/10
Short but tricky
This is not a long course by any means , it is quite tight in places and does reward a straight shot.
The main trouble is when you get to the small rock hard bouncy greens , with their high lipped bunkering ( very well strategically placed , good design )
Taking into concideration the ammount of rain we havn't had and the extraordinarly dry conditions , the course played ok.
The main criticism is that as it is a municipal course , you get golfers of limited ability ( not a problem ), but it is the constant messing about and time wasting on the tees and the lack of " ringing the bell " on the par 5 7 / 16 , this causes more unneccesary delays and ruins the flow of the round .
Overall this is a good course and i probably play again at some point when the conditions are slightly more lush and green !
I would recommend this to a friend , but warn them that as it is a nine hole course it can get very congested and will take a lot longer to get around than it should .
Beautiful course crap parking
Beautiful course crap parking The course is beautiful the greens are beautiful when you’re driving to the course there’s massive potholes they just need to spend some money rather than have gravel potholes and stones for parking if you have a performance car do not go you will wreck your wheels
Didn't enjoy
I have a soft spot for this course as I learned to play here as it's ideal for beginners and was easy to get on and you could fly through a round. This time despite being a weekday, it took nearly 4 hours on my own due to selfish players refusing to let me through as a single player. It ruined the round and I shan't be rushing back.
