sadly my experience was dainted
on the whole for whst it cost the. oursevis good value. sadly i experienced not once but twice people jumping in front. i an by no means a slow player have no issues issue in letting other players through. The last one was just down right rude. As i was leaving the green they jumped onto the tee and were clearly in no rush. i challenged them later on only to be told that everyone does it.
Good course, very friendly staff
Had a weekend down in Cornwall so visited Mawgan Porth golf course. Conditions were extremely difficult in high winds but the course was in good condition. Staff at the course were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend a visit.
Another Enjoyable Outing.
The staff were very accommodating and helpful with a minor issue, when they did not have to be. Great customer service.
Good course
The course has a nice variety of holes. The views especially3-9 are wonderful. Looking across the valleys and being able to see the sea in the distance makes it a very enjoyable experience. As it is on higher ground it picks up the wind which can make some of holes quite challenging.
Excellent Mawgan Porth
great people fab club house excellent service food drinks TV or play pool chill out great club house NO faults staff amazing helpful kind professional
would recommend to the point looking at membership
Good value, nice setting
Course is not bad at all, clubhouse a bit tired but friendly staff.
Fairways are generally in good condition, and some lovely views, the layout is quite good, surprisingly tight in places.
Back nine is probably slightly better, more open and greens in better condition. As you would expect it is very windy which to be honest adds to the drama of the course, having to plan your shots out.
The biggest criticism is the greens they are more like winter greens, bumpy and some bare patches. Back nine greens are better.
We paid £39 per person which is about right for the standard. We would play it again as it offers good value for money. If they could just improve the quality of the greens it would be brilliant.
Unplayable slow - all the time
Unless you can book the first tee, I couldn’t possible endorse going to Mawgan Porth, formerly Melin Golf Course.
While the course is nice, though left to rot in winter, the pace of play has been an issue for the 5.5 years I’ve been attending.
As my my local course, and as a former member, it’s thoroughly disappointing that this has been refused to be attempted to be remedied. I received slopey shoulders the last time I asked if there was anything planned to speed up the pace of play. Again, disappointing as it’s under new ownership.
The previous owners refused to add it to the AGM list when I suggested it. I, and several friends, have not renewed memberships.
My last experience contained 49 minutes of wait time on the first 9 holes.
My previous 18 holes took over 5 hours to complete, waiting behind people smoking in buggies, driving in buggies but slowly waiting for their mate who was walking, following each others balls instead of finding their own, continuous searching for balls without waving groups through, and even walking back down the course.
Excellent course
The course was extremely well presented with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Greens were quick, fairways well maintained and rough challenging.
The course was closed when I got there.
A wasted journey.
I need my fees returning please
Great Track
Better course than I expected, a really good challenge and would certainly like to go back and play. Lots and lots of rain recently but the course and greens in good shape and playable everywhere.
Great value course
This is a really fun course to play. Short par 3 to start, which settles your nerves. My favourite hole had to be the 10th which is a par 5 dog leg left. Great chance to knock some shots off there.
Course has a few areas that need repairing, nothing that hinders play. But they do look a bit messy.
Enjoyable enough
Challenging hillside course with very unforgiving rough expect to loose at few balls here.
The course was fun enough for under £25 but I wouldn’t pay more than that. It’s my third time playing here and the greens were better than before the summer when they were terrible. I do wish players would repair there pitch marks very lazy and disrespectful.
The course played well and greens were true the other let down besides the pitch marks were the tee boxes grass was way too long.
For these reasons Iv marked down but I would play again
