Great for 9 Holes
A great course, 9 holes, we love it here as it’s only 1 par 5 and I’m still pretty new to golf so it’s a perfect test!
In great condition in the summer months, nice and quiet. You can play 18 holes, it’s the same fairway and green with the tee box located slightly differently
commanders 9 holes
excellent value for money and a great 9 holes if your wanting something after work. not sure id recommend 18 on here as its literally the same greens just with a very slightly different T box but majority are literally side by side. other than that very good condition and greens were spot on :-)
Oakmere Park review
Signing in took a while.
The 3 infront of us took 15 mins to play their forst hole. Play was reallly slow all the way round. We saw players playing together at one hole, even though they were on buggies they were still slow.
Great little 9 holes
We have played here a few times, it’s always quite quiet. A nice mix of easier holes for more beginners. In good condition and overall a fun 9 holes to play
First time at Oakfiled
Really niice 9 hole course, quite challanging and with a nice warm/friendly welcome from the pro shop
Great course
Excellent day played the commanders course & the captain’s course great value would highly recommend.
Only 9 holes layed
When booking on Golf Now is advisable to book TWO teetimes if you intend to play the 18 holes on scorecard
Was pouring down but had a great time. Great for a early morning game
Second time playing this course, went with friends on a sunny Friday and then this time, came back because I had lost my head with the group I was playing so I wanted to give this course a chance on my own without that distraction.
I pull up at 7:50 and it’s been raining for about a hour and abit, I expect the worst. Check in and walk to the first, two old lads start to walk back to the first tee while it’s raining. They give up. I sat under a tree for five minutes and it turns to light drizzle. I start playing.
The course was completely empty as everyone gave up for the weather but I had a fantastic round, played solo and finished it in about 1 hour 20. Wasn’t playing overall quick, course isn’t overall After the third hole the rain stopped, the course must have great drainage as you couldn’t tell it had really rained, no water on the greens. Was really surprising saying this is the auxiliary course to the 18 here.
Holes 2,3 and 8 were highlights for me. In the sun hole 2 is very beautiful and similar to hole 5 at Centurion's. With Hole 8 being a nice par 3 break after three of the longer holes of the course
Holes 4 and 5 were frustrating. A par 3 with very punishing slopes, very embarrassing to as if anyone is pitching on to the green on hole 6 they can and will watch you fall off the edge of the green and roll on to hole 6.
Nice layout, needs some TLC to be considered very good
We were interested to play this 9 hole, 18 tee position course as we regularly play the excellent par 3 18 hole course down the road at Ramsdale Parek GC which is excellent. We hoped we might find an adequate replacement. It was captains day when we arrived so it was great to see the place buzzing and the food and drinks were excellent before the round. This 9 hole round has par 4's, 3's and a 5 so its like a mini normal course. The first hole layout looks great and until you get to the greens, it is great but then unfortunately the greens are tatty and not up to scratch. I am sure they are not the same on the championship course so why on this course? always puzzles me. But the layout is really interesting and it has potential if looked after a bit more carefully. It would not be a bad warm up for a round on the championship course later but its not worth travelling far to play specifically. Lovely facilities though, great breakfast!
