Father son round of golf

After only ever playing one course I wanted to try something different, hilly to say the least we grabbed a cart due to a knee injury… course is tough but fun and good condition staff are friendly and a good range of beers in the bar 4 out 5 would go again

Well maintained course, be prepared for the challenging slopes.

Course is well maintained and makes for an enjoyable round, pace of play is good and not previously had much issue with getting round even on weekends. Advisable at the minimum to use a trolley or if lucky access to a buggy, this course especially over 18 holes and the considerable slopes makes it quite a workout if you are carrying. Slopes on various holes adds to the challenge and difficulty.

Excellent course

This course is one of the best in Nottingham but you need to be fit or rent a buggy. The price is cheap for the golf, so you can use the rest of the money for a buggy, this place is great.

Really nice undulating course

Very well presented undulating course with a lot of holes that are fairly forgiving should you wang your shot. There are a high number of mid-long par 4's so there is an emphasis on getting a good tee shot away to keep your score down.

I experienced some very shallow sand in one of the bunkers I inevitably ended up in, but other than that the course was in fantastic condition and the greens were amongst the best I've played this year, probably the best at this price point to be honest.

I would recommend a buggy due to the hilly nature of the course, but if purchased between two people after booking a GolfNow hot deal, as we did, this works out as the same price as the usual green fee. (Or green fee and free buggy, if you want to think of it that way).

Lack of driving range is a minor negative, but there are nets with some balls provided to warm up with.

Clean and comfortable club house with friendly staff and a decent chip cob and pint post round.

Little bit of a trek at just under an hour from me with fighting through a bit of Nottingham traffic but I would certainly visit again soon!

Thanks

Great course, challenging greens!

First time playing this course, great condition all round, summer golf, fairways were in great condition. As an amateur golfer and having only played golf for a year or so, this has to be one of the better courses played so far. The greens were by far the best kept currently, very well maintained and very challenging, fast and firm greens but cracking experience playing greens like that!

Enjoyable round at a decent price

Course very quiet, so 3 hours 15 mins for a 2 ball. Course in good condition and greens a good pace. Hilly golf course with different lies due to the slopes. A number of blind shots where local knowledge would be key. Thoroughly enjoyed it in decent weather.

Lovely walk round & a good challenge

Good value for money at £30. An interesting course that keeps you on your toes throughout. Be sure to manage the sloping fairways off the tee. Greens were in better condition than other courses in April and were tricky to read. Special mention for the catering, we had a lovely burger & chicken wrap after the round that were both fab!

Nice Track - Tricky and Tough (if you're not straight)

Despite the less-than-ideal weather, we had a great time playing this course. The layout is pleasingly undulating, providing a challenging but enjoyable experience. Some of the tricky holes really test your skills, while the par 5s were absolutely fantastic—definitely a highlight of the course!

The weather had clearly taken its toll in some areas, with a few spots on the course showing signs of wear, and the bunkers were a bit washed out. That said, the course staff seemed to be working hard to maintain and improve the conditions, which is always great to see.

Even with these minor drawbacks, the overall design and feel of the course more than made up for it. Looking forward to see how great it will be to play here in better weather. Looking forward to booking another round soon to experience this gem at its best!

Wow, what a gem of a course.

Its snowing in Sheffield and the missus gave me a pass so we had to go further afield for a knock and saw this offer on Golf Now. After reading a couple of reviews it seemed worth the 50 minute drive and I'm so glad we did it. The Pro was very welcoming and explained as much as he could ref direction of holes and getting around which helped. The first is down hill and undulating and then straight back up for the second, I'm normally not a fan oh holes like the second but the layout and distance made it playable. To be fair due to the layout of the course there were a few uphill holes but were decent and all reachable and I'm not a big hitter anymore. The views were great and the course was fantastic, we were all very impressed with the place and considering I lived in Arnold for a while I'd never heard of it but am definitely going back whatever the cost. Some of the holes were just superb and brilliant to play. You have to be accurate and pick you way around some very tricky holes but get it booked you wont regret it.

Asking for trouble!

Course should never been open !

It was very foggy and could barely see 100yards .

Seeing as we had paid for it we foolishly played.

Only ever played Mapperley in warmer weather and the fairways are getting a right mess. Must say the greens was very good for this time of year.

Sorry, although I love this course never again in winter.
