Not worth £20
Tee boxes were an absolute state. No rakes in any of the bunkers. Greens really long. Honestly not even worth £20. More of a municipal course if anything.
Needs a lot of course maintenance
Quite an interesting course layout, certainly not a boring course. Biggest problem we found was that there were no indication of where the next tee was after you completed a hole. We had to ask other players on a few occasions where the next tee was. Some of the holes have a long walk to find the next tee. Another problem was there are no rakes on any of the bunkers. If you are unfortunate to land in one it will probably be full of footprints and very uneven. Some of them have very compact sand which is not easy to play out of. We booked through GolfNow and only paid £11 each for a midday weekend slot so can’t really complain but we won’t be visiting again. Would rather pay more for a better quality course. Management is severely lacking though when you don’t have any signage from hole to hole.
Not worth it
Had a feee Sunday morning up visiting the in laws and fancied a round of golf. No where else has a tee time available so thought I would try it, but would have been better off staying in bed.
Great days golf
me and my son went to play 18 holes at bulwell forest the thurday the staff were very friendly , the course was very good
Plus other players we met were very friendly , club house nice, toilets nice and clean
over all I would certainly play bulwell forest again
Staff was welcoming and course good
Single player completed 18 holes in 2 and a half hours. 1200 teatime and pace of play was good. Course well kept. Short par 4s in the first 9, then longer back half.
Bulwell golf course
Nice club, very friendly staff and chllenging hilly course
The staff were friendly this time. But I was taken back when I was told to buy mats to hit the ball off in the fairway for £3.50 each, saying it was the last day. Someone on the tee was told the week before it was the last day then, even though the new season had started and preferred lies had finished when we played Some greens were vandalised and still recovering from dressing, fairways dry and sparse in places. But saying that it’s a good place to start the season.
Expensive for such a poor course
Most fairways are better condition then the greens, in which the grass was very long. The general condition is what you'd expect from a local pitch and putt. £27 wasted
Bulwell Forest
Really enjoyed playing the course which was in great condition in March,. Excellent value for money, east parking!
Sunday Round
Played this course yesterday. Pace of play reasonable. Fairways and greens in good condition. Bunkers untidy, because there are no rakes. Found a couple of red tee boxes hard to find. No hot food available at 14.30. All of the pies had been pre-ordered.
First round of golf at this course
I will start this review with the only 2 bad points. First the price of a round for a single golfer is 28 pounds, which is significantly more than what I prefer to pay and more than other courses in the area. Secondly I feel that the course layout causes a few backups at a couple of the holes due to shared fairways.
Now the good points. The club house staff are absolutely delightful to deal with. The online booking was simple and efficient. Plenty of parking spaces available, chipping and putting warmup areas also available and well maintained. The course itself is absolutely lovely. Greens are well cared for and fairways are all in decent shape. Most of the holes are well thought out and makes for a lovely round of golf. Would recommend to anyone and would be more than happy to play again!
Course in good condition.
Enjoyed the round on Sunday. Course good, not too busy. No hot food available at finish around 3pm.
