Golfer Reviews
I have played here several times, course has great holes . It has suffered just with the weather this time in a couple of fairways, but greens were spot on pin positions were in good places. We did have a fair bit of rain but that could not dampen my enthusiasm for playing this course. I will always be playing this course.
Great public course
With all golf clubs battling a lot of rain at present, this course was ok considering.
Muddy but not logged with water….playable.
Will return
Panshanger
Excellent and well maintained course for this time of the year.
Very very boggy
To be quite honest this course has not held up very well to the recent wet weather unlike how I used to remember it being like many years ago. Lots of holes were like playing in a swamp and pretty much everywhere was covered in leaves. I don’t think this is very well maintained anymore and certainly wasn’t good value for the amount we paid. I won’t be coming back here this winter as I can’t see it getting any better . Would also be nice to have an air hose where you can clean up trolleys and shoes at the end especially considering how mucky you get playing here! The mud is basically like clay so it becomes very messy and clings on to your clubs wheels and shoes. Also our booking we had was double booked so we ended up teeing off later than we should have done which was a tad annoying . Sorry trying to find something positive to say but there wasn’t much on this occasion I’m afraid. I’ll be back next year once the dry season starts again .
First time at Panshanger
Panshanger has a friendly low key vibe in the club shop.
The course was testing with lots of mature trees. The greens were in decent condition especially when you factor in the poor weather lately. There was some water in some bunkers and one or two fairways were soft and heavy but overall very good.
Nice feature on the 18th there is a camera which shows on a20 minute delay in the bar giving you time to change before being horrified or elated by watching your closing shots.
Great!
The guy in the clubhouse was excellent. Very accommodating to our needs. Course was in excellent condition considering it’s nearly November
Great value on hot deal
I paid £12.50 for 18 holes on a hot deal. Excellent value. I can't really complain at that price.
If I had paid normal rates which is between £20-25 I would say the greens could do with a cut and the pace of play is particularly bad. This is clearly a place where people come to learn to play, so bare these in mind when booking.
Panshanger in the heat
8 of us played in very hot conditions and through Golf Now the price was very reasonable, although the Greens were very slow, and access to buggies would have meant a better day as we were on a Cricket tour at the time as well, and it was over 30 degrees.
The course is quite steep in places and it would be worth older players knowing this more readily when booking, as slow play in the second nine did cost time and one of the party had to leave owing to this.
Get a morning tee
Played this course several times on a morning tee and a twilight. The twilight weekend always ends up with a very slow pace of play. Still a thoroughly enjoyable course and kept to a very good standard.
Gone down hill
This has always been quite a good public course and quite challenging. However I played today with some friends and was less than impressed. The greens were in a horrible state, patchy with strange lumps and bumps that threw your outs off. But the worst one was in n the 18th a horrendous muddy match the really affected a shot. Don’t think I’ll be paying to play here again.
Excellent
Have played here in winter. Wet and muddy, gradually better in Spring. Saturday the course was in top condition. Greens were fantastic. We were a 4 ball walking done in 4 hrs 15mins great dY
