Course has come on loads since the new ownership. Lot more tidier and presentable. When I played the course it's was quite wet and damp under foot but played really nicely. Really good general up keep of all facilities.

An interesting course with a slightly quirky layout. Dreadfully slow (there was a Corporate 10 x four ball ahead) but had pleasant chats with the (three at one point!) groups of members in front and behind while waiting on various tees. The greens were excellent and I look forward to returning on a quieter day

Lovely course, with amazing setting

This course is situated just outside St Austell on the coast and offers amazing sea and countryside views. It has a good variety of holes to test your golf, and plenty of hills to keep you fit. It is under new ownership and the course condition and greens have much improved since we last played in June. The staff are friendly, as are the other golfers so a very welcoming club to visit and play. I would highly recommend trying this golf club.

Awesome

I had the quietest loveliest round of golf on my own at Porthpean. Well worth the money I’ll definitely be back and I look forward to playing it again. Course was in great condition,

Be ware of the practice net, I hit a 7iron through it.

Lovely Course with Incredible Views

Was our first time playing this course and what a day out it was. Got to the course early and had the Full English Breakfast. Highly recomend the breakfast, was really good and very well priced. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. To start the round the front 9 are Parkland playing between trees and the back 9 you play with incredible views of Porthpean Bay. Course condition was amazing and speaking to staff they are planning multiple improvements which will be fun to see. Overall an amazing day out and for £18 per person, incredible. Will be coming back.

This was our first time at Porthpean. The course in general offers a variety of holes. Greens are decent but a bit pitted on a few holes.

There are a lot of hills and you feel like you've had a good walk.

Signposting could be better to find each hole.

The staff were friendly and we shall return.

Great value for money

I found this to be quite an unusual course, in that there are many blind tees, without a map or a marker, there are no yardage markers to help gauge your approach shots, and the holes zigzag about making it often tricky to know where to head for the next tee. The greens were slower than I’m used to also. Despite all of that, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Some really challenging holes, mixed with some relatively straightforward ones, all in decent condition and with incredible views of the coastline. I’ll be back.

Quaint but tasty

Lovely course and very enjoyable with a few twists and turns, something for everyone who loves a challenge, front 9 great back 9 views superb, greens a little woolley but ran true, personally too slow for me which made it a test, will definitely visit again very good value

Great course

The first 9 is in the countryside the back 9 has stunning views over the cliffs. It is a short course but still challenging. Some of the greens are not in great shape and the back 9 has 4 par 3 s an no par 5s. However, the staff were really friendly as were the members who helped me find 10th. The few drawbacks to the course, are forgotten about because of the incredible location.
