Great Little Course
While the proximity to the motorway makes it something of a noisy walk, this is a beautiful, well maintained little course. Only 9 holes, with 18 tee boxes doubling each one. The greens are mostly upside-down saucepans, but the fairways are wide and forgiving so you can get close and make the short game a bit easier. Great, friendly, accommodating staff and changing facilities but no showers. Would definitely go again if I was passing as I thoroughly enjoyed my round.
Cracking 9 hole course!
I love Poulton Park and have played it at least 5 times so far.
It’s a 9 hole but with separate tees for the back 9 that change the holes enough to be interesting. It’s not a short cop out par 3 either. There are some long holes, loads of variety and plenty of challenge. Beautifully kept too. Great fun!
Very average
Firstly when booking through GolfNow app it states it’s an 18hole course which it isn’t. 9 holes with 18 different tees only. On arrival the chap in the shop stated due to it being a “hot deal” booking that we had been paired up with another 2 ball!! This thankfully didn’t happen as the 2 ball in front of us got off quick, but not a great greeting. Course was fair and green were in pretty good condition in the main, some holes you need to be very aware of who is teeing off on the next tee as otherwise you could be in the firing line. The cost even though a hot deal was expensive and I’ve played much better courses for the same or even less. Won’t be going again ☹️
Hidden Gem
Why oh why have I not played this course before?
Don't let a 9 hole course fool you. I was shocked how good it was. Firstly you're presented with an excellent practice area, from putting green, 3 nets, two chipping greens with bunkers, a short pitching area and of course a fully fitted trackman bay. The pro shop is modern with excellent gear. But the stand out thing for me was how good the actual greens are. By far the best in the Warrington area. This 9 hole course doubles up into an 18 hole course as it has separate tee boxes, and some of the holes are really challenging.
I enjoyed it that much I'm joining as a full member
Quality
The course was, and always is, top quality. Never fails to amaze me with how well kept it is. Despite it being quite expensive (£22 for 9 holes), you do certainly get what you pay for.
Excellent course sadly let down by lack of etiquette from junior members
This is a superb 9 hole course to play. In wonderful condition with lots of lovely holes. Highly recommended.
Sadly on this occasion our visit was let down by a 4 ball of older junior members who were very slow, hitting numerous ball practice shots into the greens and even when close to trees by the fairway, swinging clubs winding destroying beaches,
Played this course numerous times and never had an issue so hopefully club can address the behaviour of the respective members,
Gem of a 9 hole course.
Sam super helpful in the Pro Shop. No issue taking well behaved dog on lead on our trolley. Squeezed us between regular golfers. Friendly members. Loved it.
Great find
Brilliant 9 hole course, challenging and tests every club. Great find!
Course holding up well to the weather
Course holding up well to the weather, played New Years Eve, the course had dried out well, course playing nice, greens going well, tee mats and carry mats as standard for this time of year. Trolley was allowed
Standing water
The course wasn't really playable standing water on fairways muddy areas all over. Course was closed when we came off. Normally this a a 5 star for everything for myself but today was horrendous
Poulton solo
I played 9 holes by myself, greens very good course a tad wet in some area's. Hardly surprising with the weather we have had. Definitely recommend to people.
Quality course
1st time we played here yesterday we will be back for more games, Slow pace due to numbnuts in front of us, leaving bags at the front of the greens then talking holding us up, Then scoring cards at the front of greens, But once again it was a good game.
